As it is right now, we have a "StarCraft" label in the menu.
I think it'd be wise to start wondering about the StarCraft 2 community and add a "StarCraft 2" menu label.
Sub-categories would be: "Forum", "DLDB" and "Wiki".
We shall add "Forum" to "StarCraft" too.
Later on, I guess no one will want to see the old game's posts.
It's just some propositions. Anyone thinks the same way as I do?

Me and Corbo do, at least.
None.
Why wouldn't admin do too? It's non-sense!
We must hurry or people will simply see we have no link with SC2 and this will sink into unknown sites.

I personally was planning on just releasing my SC2 maps in the mapping section, asking questions in the UMS Assistance, etc., at least until something more is done. Not that I can do much without a computer.

I agree with DTBK, but still think that, because some people won't be getting SCII, we need some system where members can completely hide certain forums in a more elegant manner. The current minimization is annoying. Also, newcomers won't guess to put their requests in a forum labeled 'SC' and with predominantly SC-related threads.
None.
I fail to understand the thought that we would still have a large dedication to the original Starcraft once SC2 is released... having "full" sections for both seems a bit gratuitous and confusing unless the new game is a flop. But it probably is nearing time to roll out more space for Starcraft 2.
Would it hurt to keep all the threads for SC I ?
None.
Even if we lose our dedication to SC1, we should still keep the threads, the wiki, and such. It would be like a monument to that game's greatness. But I do agree -- we need to prepare for the (hopefully) large amount of content we'll be getting when SCII is released.
None.
By all means keep the threads, but not indexed through forums which are listed on the main page. If something is "added," it should be a more low-key, hidden section for the original Starcraft stuff.
Seems as though we're on the same page.
I must admit though, it remains to be seen how Starcraft 2 will affect the melee world since the balance of the original game is legendary.
The whole patch system Starcraft uses is what makes it so god-damned balanced. They also have a step-up balance wise compared to the first Starcraft, seeing as how they have a pretty massive beta.
None.
The current version of SC2 is far from balanced, but they're getting there.
This topic has been discussed before. I think IP made a thread over a year ago about how to handle the future of SEN with the release of SC2. There were some good organizational suggestions in there.

Mind finding back this topic?

We can keep suggesting but suggestions are so pointless when they're not done.

Why is it that both Dev and IP won't let other willing coders such as DavidJCobb help with SEN? I appreciate what they've done but they aren't doing enough, and can't without help or a lot of spare time and motivation.
Red classic.

Because if every person who said "I CAN HELP WITH CODING!" did so the system would be an absolute mess. People have different skill levels, coding styles, etc. Try and mix a lot of these and it can't possibly end well.

It wouldn't have to be a lot of people, just 1 or 2 more.

SEN's been around for a long time and a lot of people have offered the same things. If everyone who asked had been allowed to do something, it would all be cumulative. You'd have the same mess.
I'm not saying to never allow anyone to help (and obviously the administrators agree as Devourer was allowed to edit stuff)... It's just you can't throw everyone on board just because they know a thing or two about something. ;o

Though if you look at Devourer's Update List, you'll see David always has provided code sources/solutions along with his ideas... this is what mostly inclined me in his favor.

Farty's right in saying that if everyone was allowed to contribute code, it would be one giant mess, but one or two helpers wouldn't be nearly as unmanageable as, say, fifty. And also, thanks for the support, guys
