Mainly, I'm making a playlist for work. Songs can't be too horrid with the swearing, but usually rock isn't so bad. Had to bypass a few korn songs though.
Here's what I got so far: [attach=2220]
Mostly rock/alternative, but flirts with everything: gothic rock, emo, metal...

Posting youtube links would be most helpful, but I can always look songs up myself too :)

The sword and the faith

My top two bands are Circa Survive and Envy On The Coast

If not, try Coheed and Cambria, my third favorite. Sure you can find them just about anywhere. If you have any specific ideas of what your looking for, let me know.

Well, looking through the other topic, I noticed you liked whatever that Within Temptation song was, or I would assume you did, so, some songs that you also might like;

Within Temptation (I actually despise them, there's like one song I like and it's this one, lol)
The Howling

Cradle of Filth (Their vocalist is an acquired taste, but I absolutely fucking love this band, some of their more mainstream and easier to get into songs)
Nymphetamine
Temptation

Nightwish (I hate them too, but if you like Within Temptation, you might be a fan of these guys [Err.. Girl too])
Bye Bye Beautiful
Amaranth

Some music I listen to that'd be easy to get into, I guess;

Soilwork
Weapon of Vanity
Stabbing the Drama

Tool
Schism
Parabola

And some stuff that's weird but totally awesome;

Unexpect
Desert Urbania
Chromatic Chimera

Infected Mushroom
Converting Vegetarians

Bagles, awesome, thanks. I'm adding The Howling, Nymphetamine, Temptation, Stabbing the Drama :). Maybe Nemo from Nightwish.
Ex: Envy On The Coast - Mirrors is decent. Not sure if I like it enough yet though. Thanks though.
Brono: Why oh why would you post rap and styx? Fail. I do love akon though, but there's no rap going into this playlist. Possibly the best akon song ever. Five fingers sounds decent however.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Probably the only American music I listen to is Serj Tankian :P.

He's somewhat metal, I guess. Used to be with SOAD, but I don't really like them. And his music videos are weird.

Eh Centreri... thanks :).
Empty walls is totally SOADish. I like The unthinking majority as well.

Edit: Doodle, I've wondering where that staind song was. I thought it was called true colors :). Thanks.
