This thing is awesome. It apparently it uses "cellular automaton type logic", but fuck it it sounds cool.
http://www.earslap.com/projectslab/otomataAnd one I made as an example:

Cool. No fucking clue what you'd use it for, though.
None.
It makes pretty cool background music if nothing else
This is actually really fun. Do like.
This is so much fun to jam over. Holy fuck.

These grid music making programs are all the rage now. A couple of years from now they will be 3D first person simulation where you live out a life and depending on what you do makes different NPCs do different things. Every time they do something a sound is made. Still, I wonder what the next version of this kind of thing will be. Probably a 3D grid. The only thing that's bad about this sort of thing is that you can't use different sound 'types'. In the end they all sound the same.
I don't know if you could export the music but this would be really great if you had a puzzle game or something with a lot of levels and after every level a new piece is added to the grid. Would work nicely
:3c
None.
You could record the music using stereo mix in Audition or the like quite easily.
I actually think the music this makes could be used quite confidently in ambient music for a RPG or TPS/shooter of some nature, something a bit slower paced. I know that I would pursue that if I was working on a project right now.
Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

wtf, poison is sending subliminal messages:

I like making regular patterns, but they don't sound very interesting.

EDIT:
I guess these are fun.

Same exact thing I made in my first example, save the corners. I left 'em out. Haha.
Didn't notice.
Planned to have it with a number of others but got lazy and never ended up happening.
