For QQ'ers - http://www.staredit.net/topic/13498/0/

Just to make this site less doom and gloom
What have been some of your most awesome moments in gaming?

For me, Portals was Awesome. The entire game was technically a tutorial.. but I was never ready for the "real" game in the end. GLaDos.. the cake lie.. and the song in the end
And then, Portals 2 will blow everything out of the water.

Left 4 Dead is also awesome. There're some INTENSE moments when playing with my friends. Especially if it's versus.
I remember yelling at my frd once...

Super Smash Bros. Original was also Awesome when I used yoshi to own everyone at my frd's house back in the days.

Mass Effect:
The opening sequence in Mass Effect 2, the revelatory moments of Mass Effect 1 (talking to Sovereign and Vigil), the ending sequence of the first Mass Effect, with Sovereign's attack

Zelda: Ocarina of Time:
The entire thing was epic. I was completely blown away by it as a kid.

Halo:
The old Halo 1 LAN parties were probably the greatest times I've had playing games with a bunch of friends.

Half Life 2:
The entire campaign experience is one of the best (campaigns) I've ever had.

Starcraft:
Making maps for this stupid game was fun.

Left 4 Dead felt very mediocre. Once the novelty wore off (very quickly) the game was just boring and repetitive. L4D2 was no better.

SSB:O was amazing, but I enjoyed Melee much more (far more abusable). I always played Luigi in the first, since his uppercut was overly powerful and Samus in SSBM. SSB Brawl, on the other hand, is the worst sequel any great game has ever had to endure (uneven combat, ridiculous items, final moves, cumbersome sluggish movement, no one fun to play, flashy FX to the point of situational unreadability, loss of strategic value).

I'm sure Portal 2 will be enjoyable, but I don't think it'll be as amazing as you seem to think it'll be.

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. In my opinion, has a more fulfilling story than Ocarina of Time, and it pains my heart that I am unable to save EVERYBODY.

Also, God shouldn't be allowed to play video games:

Didn't I make this thread already? But:

When tassadar died

When fenix almost died

When fenix died for real

The opening movies for marvel vs capcom3

My fucking face when Captain america comes in out of nowhere and stops a helicopters propeller with his fucking shield. My fucking face when Arthur charges at magneto with a torch and x-23. My fucking face when vietiful joe rides amertarasu (okami dog w/e). My fucking face when hagger gets mad. I would fucking pay if they turned those 4 opening movies into a cinematic movie to watch in theaters with all the heros.

I need you guys to see it. It's so epic ;_;

Broodwars intro cinematic was really awesome with all that destruction and the music.

Loved the ending of Chrome. The music, the sunset, the girl, the accomplishment, all of it together made for quite a scene.

In the final level of F.E.A.R. where all these shadowy creatures attacked me from dark corners really gave me the chills and I felt very relieved when I finally ended the game.

Dune when I fell in love with Charni. Crappy graphics but lovely put together combined with emotional music and story made me really enjoy that scene.

I very much enjoyed Dragon Age's characters. Their depth and sheer amount of conversation was overwhelming. And of course Leliana's song at the campfire:

The opening sequence in Mass Effect 2.
I was so utterly amazed by the opening of that I teared up a bit. Best. Opening. Ever. ...Kind of a bitch to watch now when I replay the game, though.

And, Dragon Age: Origins, not really a big spoiler, since it's in Ostagar, but one of my most memorable moments and I wouldn't want to ruin it for anyone else.

wth is starcraft

I haven't really been blown away by a game. Then again I got stuck in Ocarina of Time as a kid. That was a pretty neat game though. :awesome:

Just Here For The Pie

Though I have never beaten the game, and I have mentioned this bit several times before on SEN, I still find these cut-scenes to be some of the most awesome moments in video game history:

Also, the ending of Majora's Mask has a great cut-scene to it. I even went on to learn the song on guitar.

For those of you who love Zelda: Ocarina of Time, you all should play Zelda: MasterQuest. It's essentially the same game except that the dungeons are a lot harder.

If it wasn't for FFIX's cut-scenes, the game would have been mediocre excluding the entire basis of the villain Kuja. I still cannot wait for the day that they re-master FFVII. If I am 30 and the day still hasn't come, I will do it my fucking self. I don't care if it's released when I'm 50, it will fucking happen.

I also agree that Majora's Mask was better than OOT. It was just so much more fun and you felt more interaction with each character. Plus the general concept was just awesome. I'm pretty sure that if I booted the game up, without any guides or anything, it wouldn't take me more than 10 hours to get every mask and nearly everything else. I could never figure out how to get the last bottle though and out of my stubbornness, never looked it up.

Portal and Left 4 Dead were amazing. However, after a few playthroughs, they just weren't that appealing anymore. Sorry Valve.

Mass Effect 1 just pissed me off to breaking point, the fucking Land Rover can suck my dick. I still have not to this day, picked that game up to finish off the storyline. I did absolutely love the story and had to buy Mass Effect 2 when they announced that the gay planet roaming missions weren't in it, so I played it and loved it. It kind of catches you up on the story from where I left off, so I was all good. Though seriously, it goes from planet roaming to probe shooting. Just add more side quests fuckers, it probably takes the same amount of time to add in 20 more missions as opposed to an entire mini-game that FORCES you to play it or else X, X and X happens.

The game that to this day, I still love and play, would have to be Unreal Tournament. They need one with a full-fledged story, Liandri Conflict came close and was definitely enjoyable both single and multiplayer... But they need to revive this aspect to the series. It was fucking AWESOME.

Mech Assault 1 and 2. Great games. Great online. Sucks that they went under. The game was the MOST popular xbox live game, even over Halo 2, in US and EU. Can you believe that? It had a larger player base that was more dedicated and spent more hours of play, playing the ridiculously long matches of Mech Assault 2 in both North America and Europe.

Hm... Awesome moments... Awesome moments...

Learning who this guy was after thinking, "Who the fuck is this fag?"

The most in-depth character in any game that I have ever played. I was absolutely blown away with the amazing design that was placed into Kuja's character. "Kuja unleashed a world war on one planet, blew up another planet, and almost succeeded in destroying the very source of all life and memories, all out of sheer hatred of his own existence." If you don't know the background behind this amazing villain, you are missing out. Also:

Very true. MQ was pretty damn awesome in that everything was the same, but more difficult. It's like if OOT had a hard mode :awesome:

Lord of the Locker Room

The lightning gun in Killzone 2. BZZZZZZZZZT fucking loved that thing and the screaming dudes did when you zapped them with it. That could entertain me all day. The flamethrower is good, too, but you can't perpetually prolong their screams by momentarily zapping them with it over and over and over.

Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

You realize that 95% of the Land Rover driving was optional, right? A few missions required you to use it but most of them with almost zero annoying searching. Usually pretty straightforward drive from A to B. Not nearly as much that you'd get bored by it.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

I feel like I'm the only person who loved FFVIII, but I thought that was a fantastic game. It seemed so much more mature than the other ones at the time (and I mean that from the perpective of how the game looks rather than plot), and I really got into it. FFIx was also amazing, and I could play FFX over and over again. I'm such a Final Fantasy freak.

FF8 was a lot of fun for a while. However at some point the interesting places you visited couldn't cover up for the repetitive gameplay anymore and I just stopped playing it about 2/3 through. Kinda feel bad for it, because the game was pretty immersive.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

I think the card game in that was also the most addictive of all the mini-games in the FF series. I used to spend hours playing that and going to the tournament rather than advancing the story.
