Dear IsolatedPurity:
Not sure I understand the logic behind the move from "Technology & Computers" to "Null", yet "Post your specs" remains in T&C.
Because atm it's just a spam your list thread (even more so as the lists have extra padding in them + things like "preinstalled windows games, lol"). I didn't see post your specs but it seems more discussion like.

And at the other stuff you wrote: It does have the potential to turn more into a discussion.

Lord of the Locker Room

Should I list my modding-related applications? Maybe that could help some people out.

edit - Okay, here we go.

Modding-related applications, AWAY!

General
Video - Vegas
Modeling - Maya, Max
Sound - Audition 1.5, Goldwave
Txt - Notepad2
Image editing - Photoshop CS2, Paint Shop Pro 9
Image renaming - Irfanview (REALLY handy)
Video recording - Growler Guncam, Fraps
Desktop recording - Camtasia

Starcraft

Everything but the newer firegraft versions.

Warcraft 3
- War3modeleditor
- War3fileconverter (They are very uncreative with names)
- Image Extractor II
- mdlvis (Russian app required for WoW conversions)
- Vertexmodify (old, outdated utility once used for WoW conversions)

Diablo 2
- AFJ's table editor
- AFJ's string editor
- Paul's map editor ds1edit (This guy is a god, his map editor is incredible, making d2 maps is so much more fun than sc/wc3)
- D2mod system (For dll plugins)
- DrTest (image viewing and dcc extraction)
- animdata_edit (For editing d2 hex files related to animation setups)
- dt1tools (editing tilesets)
- ds1converter (converts any kind of an image into a diablo 2 map and rigs the tiles, I can turn any starcraft map in existence into a d2 map with a single button)

Think there was some others I forgot.

Age of Wonders 2
- DRtester (Yup, I use a d2 app to get out d2 graphics to put in aow2
- unitedit2 (Lets me achieve values I can't in the default editor)
- UPGM_Gui (Recolors ilb files in a jiffy with a fair number of options at your disposal, clean and painless)

That's the major stuff.

Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

Dear IskatuMesk:
I left modding off because that's a little too specific if you're dealing with other games, and tools for Starcraft are already covered by other forums.

Dear IsolatedPurity:
http://www.staredit.net/topic/2221/

Can't claim it's more discussion-like if you haven't read the thread, silly!

Quote from "Syphon"
It's a polling thread, there's only so many answer one can give... In the other thread it's unlimited and we can discuss things.
Dear Syphon:
I assume by other thread you mean "Post your specs". First off, let me make it clear that I have no problem with the thread, as it might seem implied with how I'm singling it out. Rather, I point to it as a thread with a similar format.

Now, you claim that "Post your specs" is unlimited and you can discuss things. How? The first post is just dumbducky listing his computer's specs. His thread is no more guided than this one. Of the 38 posts, 20 are simply lists of specs. Of the remaining 18 posts, the subjects discussed were 3 posts about Pentium's name change, 2 posts about someone's 10GB pagefile, 2 posts about Syphon's monitor size, 5 posts on whether someone's computer could handle Crysis, 3 posts about how loud someone's cooling system was, 4 posts on IskatuMesk's computer handling Crysis, and 2 posts on whether Deathhawk would get a type of RAM. 21 posts, some included their specs while also talking about other people's posts.

What you imply by saying that "Post your specs" is unlimited and you can discuss things is to say that this thread is not unlimited and you cannot discuss things. And yet no where do I find such a difference.
