We recently had a short mapping contest in which the theme was "bad maps with effort." That being, maps that had effort put into them, but in reality, were completely awful. We had three maps. Here they are:

sImS iN hElL !~ and Sim CITY 2013 are 2-8 player maps. You can't play by yourself no matter how much you want to.
Also, interestingly enough each one of our maps had "God" as a force name/character/mechanic.

Mine is 2-7 player, but close enough
Also, I attribute that to us discussing sim city before and/or me mentioning the god aspect of it.
I nominate inferno's as the victor. The unit unplaceable intro was hilarious, and I couldn't stop laughing at the BC titled "don't use this".
Although dem0n gets the best mission briefing for sure

Demon and I hosted mine public and one guy joined. We started the game and the guy was being super serious about playing it - he legitimately wanted to roleplay in the map despite it being a semi-obvious (only semi because most "Sims" maps really are that bad) parody. I felt slightly bad when I massed up men and killed all his stuff later on, and he even asked us to remake. We also played Demon's map public, and one guy joined and said he missed the map because it was such a classic (yes he actually said that).
These look they were made by twelve-year-olds. Well done, you've captured the essence of the average Brood War map!
