I'm not getting what that has to do with what version of Trillian one is using.
In the basic version all you got is text files.
Most important additions in Pro version (which make it actually useful) are that it shows the last lines of previous conversations in the chat window and you can search the history from within Trillian using keywords or clicking a calendar date.

I use free, and I can see the last few conversations w/ a given contact, too.

There's a history button up top that opens the chat log in one's default text viewer. Notepad has a search function.
As for searching by date... I have full timestamps on messages, so I can do that manually without too much trouble anyways.

are the same service. I don't particularly like either default client ...
That's why I opt for third-party ones.

I prefer AIM using Trillian. MSN and their packet loss can die in a fire. The default clients for any of them are awful. I still have msn/skype/astra accs though.
Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.
Reviving. Sup with MSN losing connection because of packet lost or whatever? I don't use MSN anymore because of it. The main MSN client blows because it's just too bloated for my computer and when using pidgin or something I always get disconnected and then I'm unable to re connect to MSN through pidgin. It's the reason I don't use MSN anymore but I'd like to. What do? ;_;

Pidgin. Only beef I have with it is it is slow to update other people's DPs (or so it seems).
