Well just a couple minutes ago I was trying to play some games on ol' SC1, and a couple hackers joined my first game (one I didn't know about until midgame, since she wasn't spoofing).
One was relatively benign and only seemed to be able to talk while a dropscreen was up, but the other was a spoofer who could spam easily, freeze the game (it'll look like he was on a dropscreen), and also apparently change his name on the scoreboard (his name on the scoreboard after I was dropped was different than it was ingame or in lobby).
Afterwards I tried to remake, and he came back. I recognized him, and because he was annoying, I banned him. SC crashed almost immediately after (both for me and everyone else in lobby, from what they said when I remade). I tried again several times, each with the same result and him trying to sneak in under a new spoofed name. He claimed he could also IP ban me if he wanted to. While this is obviously bullshit, I found I was unable to log back in after the last time he crashed me (note that the last time, he crashed as soon as he entered the lobby instead of waiting for me to ban him).
WTF happened?
EDIT: Ok, I just tried to log back in again, it worked. Maybe crashing a lot makes you temporarily unable to log in? Still, how the hell was me making my game crash, and more importantly, why would anyone do that over and over again?
None.

May I refer you to the definitions of the words "lamer", "idiot", "petty moron", "loser", "basement dweller", and the unofficial/informal (non-sexuality-specific) definition for "fag"?

Absolute truth.
It also doesn't help your case very much that you provide enjoyable reactions to their antics.

and also apparently change his name on the scoreboard (his name on the scoreboard after I was dropped was different than it was ingame or in lobby).
He was spoofing in the lobby and game, but you can't spoof the scoreboard (AFAIK)
Red classic.

Then why were there special characters (mostly blocks and stuff) in his scoreboard name? =/
EDIT: By the way, this is completely unrelated, but how do I open a PCX file? (The file type that SC screenshots are saved as.) I have a bunch of screenies I took of a cool glitch but I can't figure out how to open them (and it didn't occur to me until just now to save the replay of that game... too late now, dangit...).

He probably did the join a billion times hacks. It makes b.net message you a ton of times and it gives b.net the impression that you are flooding it and you get flood kicked for 5 minutes. hackers go out their saying "Lol you peasant you should get hacks to combat hacks". Don't do it man. Stay pure.
I think people around here will recommend IfranView. I dislike it but it gets the job done. Not really sure about other options.

My personal favorite is ACDSee. It's the best image/media viewer (+ basic editor, like cropping, brightness, etc.) out there. Very customizable and unmatched speed and workflow efficiency. It's portable too, so feel free to put it on your flash drive. Although not intended as such I even sometimes use it to tidy up my hard drive. It's not free, but if that's a problem I can help you with that.
Some may argue that the newest version is bloated (and it is somewhat, but with useful features) but for those I recommend older versions that still have most of the advantages of the current version. I've used ACDSee 32 for a looooong time, and later upgraded to 4.0 for video clip support. So I can recommend these as "light" versions.
IrfanView is similar in design and free, but lacks the customizability which is ACDSee's strength.

I just convert them.

From what I read, you ran into a hack called Insecticide.

Both replies to that thread indicate the hack doesn't work. so it's likely not that xP.
Also don't link to hack websites. I think you used to get severity for even MENTIONING the names of hacks.

Proof, please.
The complete lack of intervention, and hack disruption is all the proof I need.

Adeon can't seem to take a joke
.
Plus, SC2 maps get moderated because the UNITS, mind you, the UNITS that are moving around in them - occasionally formed a shape vaguely resembling a swastika. And then people flame and flood everywhere in BW channels and no one gives a damn. Blizzard just stopped moderating SCBW.

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.
Such hacks are possible and exist. Note: There's more than one way to IPBan and crash users (even if in the lobby).
Any and all claims so far in this thread seem to be false.
From what I've read, you ran into my friend called Lormak. He's cool and doesn't afraid of anything, and using special characters he has 3 names in one. It's awesome. xD!
Otherwise you are just lobbycrashed after he joins your game after you ban him. It's all in the revenge. However, the fact is, he can do that for HOURS. I would NOT want to ban him from MY game.

Well, he was spamming while ingame (I had played a game with him previously; his name was spoofed in such a way that every time he typed something, it took up two rows) and if I remember correctly, he was drophacking (although I could be thinking of a different guy now).
None.
Yeah, that's Lormak. He's cool.
Anyways, the hacks used are completely public, it was Insecticide (has joined the game x10 -> /stats player x10 -> packet flood -> temp ip ban), and lobby crash (duh).
The only thing you can do is fight fire with fire. All these lobby hacks can be protected against only by using hacks.
