Use Scmdraft 2 and you can choose Triggers -> Trigger Editor (Not "Classic Map Triggers"!)
There you have the trigger code which you can copy and paste.
But to save the changes you need to click on the "compile" button (square with a checkmark).
This is the rightmost button in the toolbar.
INFO:
This editor has no search and replace functions (still alpha, though whats implemented works).
But you can copy the text into any other editor where you can easily modify a large amount of similar triggers.
You also need to make sure the map has the same location/switch/etc names so the triggers will compile.

Right, but unit names DON'T need to be the same since they are always shown with their original name.
As much as I know theres no other things that need to be the same except location and switch names
And when using the display action showing chars like '<' '>' It will convert them to something else. You will need to correct that manually. Don't know if there are other chars that can't be compiled. But I'm quite sure it can't be that many.
Damn it, I wish I knew this before....

Holy shit what is that in the sky? Is it a bird? A plane? No, it is another reason people shouldn't blindly begin map editing with SCMDraft 2 and should start out using simpler Staredit-based editors!
That said, merely copying the trigger code using SCMDraft 2's text editor is usually more convenient.

Okay theres a much simpler way...
1. Save map with desired triggers as diffrent name
2. Change tileset if needed
3. Copy/Paste desired terrain/units/sprites onto map
4. Redo unit names (which should be the last thing you do anyways)
5. Save map as truely desired name...
Problem solved... no mess no fuss

That's actually more complicated than copy pasting triggers from SCMD2 TrigEdit.

Seriously, Esponeo, don't be sarcastic if you're not sure what you're doing. It makes you come off like a stupid jerk even if you aren't one. His topic title directly asks how to important triggers into SCMDraft. And I'm sure you know the multitude of negative results of switching between SCMDraft and simpler editors, so I don't know why you'd recommend that...
Also, if you do need to do a replace all or anything to make the triggers fit into your new map, use Wordpad; it does it instantly most of the time when Notepad takes forever. And ya, TricksOfDeath's method is actually much more complicated and cumbersome than just copying triggers, don't use it.
And if I hadn't been removed from my moderation status by IP... *closed in heart.*

That's the topic description, not the title. I never read the topic description. I guess I should. I wasn't trying to be a jerk ;p

Ok, I'm bringing this topic back because I need to do this and I can't find the "Triggers" button, I've seen it before.

O...
EDIT: Wait a minute, there is no plugins tab.

Triggers tab, I think is what he meant... Triggers tab, if you're using SCMD2; Scenario tab for Starforge/Xtra Editor
Triggers > Trigger Editor
Copy/Paste into desired map what you want to copy/paste. The only thing you have to worry about is location names and if you named your switches...
OMG!!! The only options under "Triggers" is "Classic Map Triggers" and "Classic Mission Briefing"!!!

Hah... Usually it's the opposite, where you only have "Trigger Editor" and "Map Briefing Editor"
Hmm, try running the update script (Advanced > Check for Updates) and if you can get an update, download it and close SCMD2. a .zip file should appear in your SCMD2 directory. Extract it where it is, and it will ask if you want to replace a file. Answer "Yes to all"
Sorry for a tutorial on something obvious...
If you cannot get an update (Most updated version already installed/"Check for Updates" isn't there) you my have to find the editor somewhere and re-download it...
You probably have some sort of a BETA version where trigedit was temporarily disabled. I'd highly recommend downloading the newest possible... newer versions of SCMDraft generally have more bugs cranked out of them and more features.

Lol, I do have beta, "Beta 0.8.0."
Thx for making me check that...
EDIT: Wtf, I dled the newest and it still says "Beta"!!

This is the newest. The editor still has Beta status because it contains many bugs.
I'll Zip and post my Plugins-Folder. Maybe it helps you.
Extract it into your ScmDraft Folder.
