Right then.
This one shouldn't be too difficult:
None.

Don't forget updating the score.
Is that a mac game? Because if yes, then I'll give up right away.
Although it looks
somehow familiar. But may as well be another game with a similar setup.
Nope, it's Windows (except really early versions from forever ago, which were for DOS).

Ya, big ugly vector graphics...
I think we need a hint here. Aham, not too hard... Extraordinary taste ftw.
Like your Mac game noone seems to know this one.
looks like terminal velocity, but obviously not.
That's what I thought too. I cant tell what game it is either though.
EDIT: No I was thinking of Escape Velocity, not Terminal Velocity.
None.
I've looked at like, every space flight sim for MS-DOS ever. D:
But I love vector graphics! :C

Here's a hint:
Keep in mind that I don't really believe in the modern gaming "industry"...I find that mainstream commercial games tend to do more harm, by promoting a useless expectation of "professionalism" that discourages independent makers, than any advantage in "fun" that they supposedly offer can make up for. Plus they cost money, which sucks. And if you wait long enough, you have to spend vastly more money to keep up with the necessary level of hardware, which doubly sucks AND makes you lose access to anything that can't run on newer systems (and I believe sometimes that means you lose more than you get, which is negative value in return for your hundreds or thousands of dollars). I had hoped that this game would be gotten fairly quickly, because it was around for a long time and had a good community (late versions were even playable through the internet)...but if your method of identifying the game is based not on knowledge, but on using the internet to search through established channels of "the system", you're unlikely to find even the least obscure members of my collection (not to mention, I was very careful to find a screenshot without anything that you could simply Google to find the answer).
EDIT: No I was thinking of Escape Velocity, not Terminal Velocity.
Good guess (and good game), but no. EV's got the radar on the top of the HUD, for one. I can't even count the number of times when I thought about making an EV mod based on this game...never got around to it, though. Someday, maybe...

A vector is only a line by definition.
But you can create more complex objects by combining vectors.
@Foxy:
Okay, okay, it's alright, you got me convinced that I will never guess or google any of your games.
(And that although that I pretty much share your opinion, just not that extreme. Yes, 10-15 years ago the games have just been better and there's really few games that I actually bought, but that doesn't stop me from PLAYING them.
)

Eh. I didn't specify that I meant lines vs. curves.

Oh, you can google it all right, you just need to know what to look for...so I took the screenshot from a battle with all capital ships, because the capital ships are generically named, while pretty much any of the fighters would give you enough to find it. But hey, this is "guess the game", not "research the game".
None.

this is "guess the game", not "research the game".
Actually you need both (if you don't know the game already). You look at the game's appearance, put it into (=guess) a genre, maybe guess 1-2 other possible keywords, then you ask google (=research).
For a true "guess the game" thread we'd need popular games but much worse screenshots, like only snippets, or censor large parts.
But imo the "easy ones" are the best. You see a screeny and you know you played and loved that 10 years ago. Now all you need is to remember the fucking name.
That's what I find so interesting about this thread.
I just google so much, because I have too much time and because I want to share my gaming experiences when it's my turn.
