I got IE and gets one popup each month or so, with a 3-4 hour use each day... and my friend got it off since he can't do shit with a computer and gets 10 popups each time he uses his browser (wich is IE, too)
So maybe it doesn't stop them ALL like chrome, but its definately more than 30%.

Or you can use many of the other more capable products out there, that are also equally free, but have more support. Something like Firefox, or Chrome. Or... maybe even Opera...?
None.
I prefer Firefox, but sometimes I prefer Chrome, it's a bit cleaner, I prefer anything over Microsoft Virus Download Client.
None.
I tried Firefox once, but the different format of the toolbar was disorienting (and I couldn't figure out how to delete a toolbar), so I went back to good 'ol IE.

You couldn't right click the top and uncheck the toolbar..?

I'm pretty sure I tried that, but nothing happened. Either that, or I missed one of the right-click options.

All that shows up are the toolbars if you right click the top.

If you are getting random ass popups, I would check for adware/malware/etc.
IE simply sucks all around. The more they try to make it like firefox, the more hideous it becomes.
And yeah, it's still probably the biggest security risk you'll ever have on your computer.
I personally fall more and more in love with firefox as time goes on. I do have Chrome and Opera installed though as well, for testing purposes.

Just here for the activity... well not really
IE8 does, however, have a sexy skin, I have to admit that, and I've even resorted to using the IE8 theme for Firefox.

7's interface is just awful. I hate having to stare at it in school, so I installed Fx on that computer.

Just because I have a connection speed of 4 Kb/s doesn't mean I don't have a good computer.

Or maybe just anyone in general who mentions how firefox uses more memory than IE.
