Right now, I'm interested in getting, if it's even possible, a cursor nub ( as occasionally found on laptops ) for use on my desktop. Unfortunately... I know next to nothing about them, including what to search for in order to find one to buy. Any help, comments, or thoughts?

Like, as in a clit-mouse?

The closest thing to a nipple mouse that I can think of that can be used with a desktop would be Apple's Mighty Mouse.

I've never seen one that wasn't part of the laptop keyboard, and searching on a few sites turns up nothing.

Dungeon Master

The proper term is 'Trackpoint Style Pointer', so you might try searching for that.

I prefer touchpads really. It's painfully annoying to me since the nub is so tiny.

ebay linky

IBM still makes them apperantly and they sell as high to $140 USD and around $30USD low.

mouse>trackpoint>>touchpad. My hands sweat when I work, and thus touchpads suck balls. All drivers suck for them too.

Just because your hands sweat and touch pads suck for you doesn't mean they do for everyone else. I personally like the touchpads, of course a mouse is required for me while making plans or other architectural things but when I'm just having fun I like that all I need is my laptop, nothing else, no wires or anything.

My touchpad doesn't work when cold. The moisture from anyone's hand is enough to condense on the pad. It's in such a location where, when typing, it frequently gets touched, and due to my palms. The nub mouse is much smaller, and much faster to use. I don't know anyone who has both and chooses to use the touchpad over the nub mouse.

My touchpad has a toggle button/light. It works just fine for me... If I let my laptop get too hot it may become less sensitive, but I just have to move my laptop to get better cooling. The nub thingies are weird...
