I am wondering which would be better for my dad to get himself for when he rides his motorcycle. If he doesn't want itunes, he should get a zune, although you have to install a program. Overall, get an ipod if you want something stylish and small. Get a zune if you want something with big screens and is well worth overall.

Ive had my zune for a year and a half about, and its the greatest MP3/Video player ive ever used. I had an Ipod. I like my Zune a lot better. However, the 30GB is more than enough space and is a great modle. I suppose you can grab the 80GB if you really have the money to spend though.

The 80 GB is only like what, 50$ more? I think it is worth it if you do the ratio and figure it out.

If he's gonna be riding a motorcycle while listening to it, you'd definately want to go with one of the flash models, but none of those go over 50GBs yet. Zune>iPod

Zunes have a 3-inch screen versus a 1.8-inch screen on the iPod. They both operate at 320x240, but there doesn't seem to be any loss in quality on the Zune, as far as I can tell. Zunes have a lower battery life at about 20 hours. I don't know what the iPod is rated at. The headphone quality on the Zunes is greater than the quality of the iPod, but if you already have your own pair of good headphones it won't matter. The menus on the Zune are more intuitive and faster to navigate than the iPod ones. Zunes have a really useful reverse sync feature with computers, which saved me a lot of time get all my music over to my new computer. Wireless sync is pretty nice for podcasts. Does that help? iPod has more DRM than Zune... Zunes will also get game support soon, which will be far superior to silly clickwheel games. I don't know if that'll affect your decision.
