I've had a Zune 80 for 8 months now, and its been pretty snazzy. The pad is far more effective than the iPod's, it hurts to go back. Considering that I have a 360, the combination is also a plus. I've plenty of movies on it that I can just play right off my Zune whenever I need. You never really notice how small the iPod screen is until you get used to a Zune's. I haven't looked much into the iPod so I can't give you an opposing view. Its all preference, of course, and what you're looking for.
