Okay guys, I think we can all see that Mod Night attendance is really falling apart. I mean, most of the time we get like, 4-6 people coming, which, SUCKS!

I have a few suggestions to possibly make more people come:

1: Decide mods earlier. Although its MM tradition to decide at the last minute, it could be hurting attendance. (Ex: Someone wants to play, sees we haven't decided yet, and its already time. They give up, and don't attend) I think we should decide a few days before, like Wednesday's or Thursday's.

2: Play something new! Really, we always choose from like, the same 10 or so mods. Sure, we choose them because they are good mods. But maybe its time to play something not as good, but enjoy it anyway, because its something new, right? Hopefully the SMC mods will change all this, adding a lot more content out there.

3: Some people just don't care. SeN was, and still is, a prominent mapping community, even before Maplantis died and us modders came over. Obviously, we lost a lot of people (Which is odd, how dumb are you to refuse to move to another SC fansite?) in the transition between SeN and ML. So, we need to try to get some more people to start modding, or at the very least, to play mods.

4: Free beer?


Excuse me for being a heretic for trying to change our ways, but still, something needs to be done if we want to keep mod nights going strong.

The Mod Community is falling apart here. None of us have inspiration; our best modders have left or are on the brink of leaving. Ever since Maplantis fell apart, our progress has been in a steady recession. We have almost no innovation at this point, we are honestly only boring old ideas and mixing them together into new mods. The influx of new modders is less that the outgoing modders. I'm sorry to say this, but the Mod Community is all but dead.

We've had a bloody good run, but I honestly think our only hope is SC2 and a massive turnaround for this site.

no one plays any of my mods so I don't play or mod, pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter.

Also, you must realize that SC modding pretty much died years ago. It's looong past its prime and the activity you had here was nothing short of a miracle.



Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

On regular mod nights we did never get more than 6 people. So yeah, I'd not call that dead :P

Yeah, but dying or not, 6 people isn't a lot. Wouldn't it be more fun if there were like, 12-16 people at mod night each time?

I would LOVE to attend mod night but the server gives me an error saying that my connection is havin problems... something about it not processing UDP packets on port 6112 or something like that.

Nevermind!! I fixed it.. my firewall was blocking port 6112.. xD

I guess we should have Corbo start setting up the Summer Midnight Modnight Madness. We need every mod re-uploaded, every patch posted, everything we need. I'll try to finish up Disunion for this. If Corbo doesn't want to do this, then I bet Polaris, or I, would happily set this up.
