Let us buy stuff with minerals. Specifically, for 400 minerals, you can buy a command center/Nexus/Hatchery (Basically, choose your race). Then, you can buy builders for 50 each, which can either build you a building over a week-long period (if terran - if zerg, evolve, if protoss, no waiting) or get you 8 minerals per week. Basically, everyone can build a base. How about it? Then, you can build armies and eliminate others. All mineral-based!

It's kind of a replacement for Armies. And it makes minerals somewhat fun to have. And stops posting from becoming main mineral production facility, possible slightly reducing spam. It's a random thought I had, but after the site is nice and dandy, a competitive, long-term game like that might be fun.

Hm, maybe workers have to "mine" the minerals from the very posts you make. Thus, if you're inactive, minerals will taper off and you won't slowly build a gargantuan stockpile. You can still receive an instant amount of minerals per post, but this idea would help limit the 8 minerals per week per worker idea. You need a "mineral patch", afterall.
