An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death
You modify the tank's damage by the tank turret unit, not the actual tank. You'll need to elaborate on the string problem. Are you talking about the unit name? What exactly is the problem?
Edit: I believe SCMDraft allows you to edit the damage directly with the tank, but if you're having problems, editing the turret damage would solve it.
Edit2: I just noticed that the tank turret seems to be unchecked for "Use Default" in the latest version of SCMDraft. This is likely a bug. Checking the default and then editing the damage for the tank may also solve your problem.

If strings get corrupted you're best off reverting to a backup. Go advanced -> backup database and find a good one.
ScmDraft sometimes corrupts strings and usually there's no easy way to fix them.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
Try to avoid switching editors because scmdraft has a system that recycles strings when a string is used twice in the map (other editors create copies).
nvm about the tank thing i updated it and worked fine.
but the strings... yea kinda wierd
