If Lanthanide's, Raitaki's, and TiKel's bills pass this evening, President Azrael Wrath will be able to act on them. (Presidential action and overrides don't need to wait on my updates.)

You could take over poison_us's position until he gets his internet working (or forever), he asked for a replacement four pages ago. All I would have to do is send you a copy of poison's objectives.

I would prefer not having players temporarily replaced, if for no other reason, the fact that the substitute has no reason to play well. Even if such a substitute decides to play well, there is no way to make any sort of deal with them that doesn't involve immediately rewarding them. Any deals made could also be broken by the original player when said player returns. For those reasons and probably others, it doesn't seem like it would be a good idea.

There's some negative aspects for the player who is being substituted as well, but since poison offered the suggestion I guess those aren't relevant.

Some suggested alternatives:

1) Leave poison in-game until he returns.
2) Permanently remove poison from the game.
3) Permanently replace poison with another player.

However, if you are going to let someone substitute for or replace poison, I think Tempz is a good choice, so no issues there.

Anyways, those are just my thoughts on it :P

Nah, wait a bit first. If Kame's bill comes through, veto that instead ;D

Dec 23 2011, 6:26 pm Lanthanide Post #131

I'm not sure how payne's bill, which got 3/7 votes or 42.85% support meets the criteria set in the rules post for passage:
Quote from The Rules
Passage of a bill requires 50% or more of non-abstain votes to be a "Yea".

Lanthanide, thank you, I didn't even check to see if payne's bill has enough votes. payne's bill has failed. Also, Kame's bill has failed.

Farty's bill awaits presidential action.

Damn you! I hoped no one would see that. :P

Also, let's say the 3 bills get adopted, it means I have THREE times a Minus score in Technology? That sucks. D:

Now it's four times.

You could have regained some of the points by passing your bill, which likely would have happened if you'd gotten more input before submitting it. For your next bill, you may want to also communicate with me beforehand so I can relay to you any concerns from my constituents.

As a side note, I'm wondering if it would be possible to finalize votes? Using a final vote would indicate you do not plan to change it again, although you'd still have the ability to. If a majority of players had their finalized vote on the same decision, the deadline for the bill would be ended prematurely.

I think it would be an effective way to cut some unnecessary delays out, like waiting another day for Olimar's bill when it already seems clear that it will pass.

Oh, so like if 5 players (50% of 10) finalize YES or NO, the bill would immediately be sent to the President? Sounds like a good idea, does anyone else support this? I'd be willing to implement it unless someone has a reasonable objection.

Also, I think the next year will be shorter than a week... I'm thinking 3-4 days, how does that sound?

I sign OlimarandLouie's bill.

Edit: I think 4 days would be a good amount of time for each year.
