Relatively ancient and inactive

Well, I was never really bullied (Hell, near the end of middle school the tables had turned!), but I really disagree with anyone that says it's 'natural' or 'good'.

Todays society, for the most part, requires use of your brain to succeed. This is what the government tries (and fails) to achieve - as much intelligence from students as possible. Most of the students are (for lack of a better term) brainwashed into going along with this. It is perfectly 'natural' to follow society - torment isn't natural. You don't see tigers cutting off the limbs of their victims one by one. Bullies, for the most part, oppose society, which is extremely stupid, since you don't really have that big a choice if you want to succeed.

That's all there is to it. They oppose what the government is trying to do by tormenting others, probably to try to make themselves feel better. It's not smart, it's not 'natural'.

I'll repeat it again.

Individuals are ‘teased’ for a multitude of reasons. They end up with nicknames they dislike. This is all part of growing up in our society.

And I'll rephrase what I said:
It's not meant to be part of growing part in out society, and neither should it be a part.

Sad, but true. What you COULD do is cover your upper lip with ketchup or red water or real blood. Say you got a nosebleed but you have no time to wash it. They'll leave you alone.

Back to the ultimate question..
Quote from subtitle of thread
When will it stop?
Probably when people stop feeding into it. Most bullying occurs because people react to what happens to them, that is exactly what the bully is looking for. They aren't happy with the lack of control in their life, so they control someone else and make them sad to make themselves happy. Stop reacting and you'll be fine. If it is obvious that this doesn't work over a little bit of time, then it would be appropriate to teach them a lesson by beating the shit out of them (if you can), or show them that you can call police, their mother's, or a teacher to end the problem.

Uhhh.
1. Some people look for possible victims that will not react to attacks. It really depends on the "bully".
2. The "lack of control" is also absolutely personal. Some just release their natural aggression, for example.
3. Calling the police/parents/teacher is the worst thing to do, in my opinion - it will only make them hate you (though this depends on the mentality; over here, if you call the police because you're being bullied everyone will just think you're overreacting. I don't know how "serious" bullying is considered in the US though).
4. Beating the shit out of your offenders multiple times in a row really helps. Try it out atleast once while you're young (not referring to yenku).

While I was in primary school (1-5 grade), I was attacked by quite a few people in my class because I acted like a victim. I just beat most of them up several times, and everything went perfectly fine after that.

If you don't want to use your fists, don't act like a victim.

The only way I've found to make bullying stop is to fight back and win, but after winning, don't simply leave and let them feel bad. (That is bullying too.) Help them up, and then say thanks or joke about it. Instantly changes a bully into a friend.

I've only had one bully experience in my life and thats how I solved it in a week or so.

1. Yes, some people. I was talking about most bullying.
2. Lack of control is a personal issue, but they often take it out on others that they can claim control over. Do you know any psychology?
3. Who's business is it if someone hates you? As long as the problem is solved then what the fuck should a victim care. If a bully hates you for ratting them out, they should have been smarter. Now they've learned from their mistakes or they'll wallow in self-pity.
4. I never really should have said beat the shit out of someone. At least stand up and show them that you can be the boss. Usually it just takes me a flash of my fist in their face and they'll see that I have control of the situation. Usually it doesn't come to that though.

Usually it doesn't come to any of this. I can talk very well to people when I am speaking with them face to face. If someone is irrational with me, I'll set them straight with my smooth talking.

2. I just said that the reasons you stated are not the only reasons. I didn't say I disagree with them. And yes, I'm studying psychology (by myself, not at school).
3. It's always better to solve the problem and not make someone your enemy at the same time. :)

Good. I learned how to grow great pot all on my own. It's amazing what one can learn from their own experience.
