Day 5
Matt Horner looked at the infested man's head. Blood was leaking out of it, and the eyes were still open. He looked back up at Zeratul.
"Why come now, after Jimmy's gone? We've been fightin' this thing for days now, and you just decide to show up? I mean, at first we just thought that it'd be ridiculous to ask for the protoss for help, but now that you've told me that you've known about this and have just decided to help, I don't know what to think!"
"My brethren and I have been watching over the city for weeks, seeing the zerg move closer and closer to your city without any hesitation. My brothers wanted to destroy the entire planet; I urged them not to." Zeratul looked down at the dead body. "I believed that Mengsk would fight against these abominations; however, it appears as though I was mistaken. When I learned of Jim Raynor's death, I knew that I could sit in the shadows no longer."
Zeratul walked up to the chair and slashed the chains that were holding the man. With no restraints, the man fell to the ground. Horner ran over to him and helped him up.
"What did they want with him?" Horner asked Zeratul.
"Surely they were keeping him here for their queens to feast upon. I can sense that their numbers are waning; they must have been trying to steal more of your people," Zeratul replied.
The man had now gone unconscious, and Horner tried to wake him up.
"Let him be," Zeratul said, "We have much work to do if we are to stop this invasion before it truly begins."
Horner set the man on the ground. Just then, Zeratul grabbed him. There was a large flash, and the two appeared on a hillside outside of the city. It was a tall, green hill that overlooked much of the city; the horizon could be seen for miles. Zeratul pointed to the west.
"There," he said, "is the final zerg encampment. If our brethren strike there, the zerg shall surely fall."
Horner nodded.
"Take me back," he said. "I'll gather my men."

***40 Minutes Later***
He ran as fast as he could, but he couldn't outrun them. A whole mob of people, led by Raynor's vengeful men, chased a shady figure down the streets of Augustgrad. The protoss, led by Zeratul, had ambushed the last encampment, killing every last zerg. This one figure, however, had escaped. He had ran into the city, where he was met by an angry group of freedom fighters.
The people were gaining on him. He turned street corner after street corner, ran through alley after alley, trying to find some way to allude the mob. He just couldn't, however. The people had appeared throughout the entire city it seemed, and wherever he went, he found more of them. The people had almost circled him. One man jumped out of the crowd and tried to tackle the figure. The figure dodged, however, and continued to run. He ran into a building and ran up the stairs. He got onto the roof, where the people followed. Once up there, the figure walked to the corner of the roof, where he seemed to be trapped. As the crowd closed in on him, he jumped off of the building and landed on the streets. With the people stuck on the roof, he continued to run. The coast seemed clear; no one was in sight, and the figure had found a road leading out of the city. As he approached the city borders, the froze in place. He could not move, no matter how hard he tried. There was a flash, and group after group of protoss appeared before his eyes. The figure tried harder to move, but he was completely trapped in place. The protoss surrounded the figure, and Zeratul appeared before him. He walked up to the figure, and did not hesitate. With a quick slash, the body of poison_us split in half and fell onto the ground.
"It is done, my brethren." Zeratul said. "Let us return home now."
The protoss disappeared as quickly as they had come. The mob of people eventually caught up to where the body laid, and once they saw it, they began to cheer. The invasion was over, and the city was seemingly safe once more.
