I dont get how his crappy little nation of 74 million people whose government doesn't spend a dime on defence is more armed than my massive nation of 1.24 billion with a government budget of over 50% for defence. It makes no sense. It's like germany being more armed than 4 USA's.

They're probably referring to civilians being armed. Besides, defense probably covers way more things than just arming soldiers, like developing technologies and whatnot.

Why would population influence the fact that the civilians are armed or not? Some of the determining factors for this could be the freedoms he's given his people, i.e. he allows them to carry weapons and maybe you gave your police force too much power, thus prohibiting regular civilians from owning anything that could be potentially dangerous.

The crime rate could also be a good indicator of this; weapons being more readily available usually means that there's more crime. None of your deaths are attributable to murder whereas his is much higher I believe.

Besides, why would you want your people to be the most armed if you're aiming for a totalitarian dictatorship? You're already generous enough to let them keep the clothes on their backs .

I'm not aiming for a totalitarian dictatorship though. I'm simply dictating for a little while to reduce the size of my ugly nasty bigass bureaucratic mess of a government. Once that's cleaned up I'll turn the laws back over to the CEO's of my various corporations.

I give people liberties because when they screw up, I can take them away. Also, it makes me laugh when they fuck themselves over, without me doing it themselves.
