I can't wait for Black and White to come out. My bf usually gets one and I get another of the same generation (so I have SS and he has HG, for example). On that note, I have not finished either game he has bought me yet.

I'm really disappointed that your active pokemon won't be following you around. I really liked that. They were like BAMF nanopets. Also, Seel is my active pokemon because she appaerntly loves me.

Also, as most of you that care probably know they released some (if not all?) name changes between the Japanese version and the version to be released in the states. Apparently people were upset that Wargle was renamed Braviary. I don't really understand why, though. I look at it and think its more out of respect to the States than to infuriate us (though I think Unova is a troll a little bit). Think of it, eagles are something that represents the American people. Americans are trying - for the most part - to distance ourselves from being warmongers. So I seei t more that they acknowledge we are the land of the brave not of war. Anyways, my two cents.

Anyway I'm looking forward to Gen V, there's a bunch of fun new toys like the Dream World abilities and reusable TMs. I have an intense rivalry with some friends, so I'll have to make sure to come up with a new team to defend my title.

The only person I've ever linked with for competition is my boyfriend, mostly because I don't like competing. Also, I spent like 6 hours alone so that I could get a dratini :3

I completed the Pokedex too (493/493), so I guess I'll have to complete this one

I've recently finished Pokemon Platinum... it was awesome

Black and White, I've heard, is dumbed-down (puzzles are easier)
but still, reading the new moves and new additions, I know that they've upped the battle system.
So I'm sure that, if you're into competitive pokemon, you'll like it more than ever.

I'd own you with my sandstorm team, but unfortunately, I'm using an emulator :C

BTW, there's already a translated, english version out for dibs on the internet. You'd have to use a specific emulator tho... aka not currently the best DS emulator.. :C
also, the pokemon names are still japanese.... i think.

... I honestly hope that the 3rd version that they release with every new pokemon (i.e. green for red blue.. emerald for sapphire and ruby.. platinum for diamond and pearl) isn't called "Pokemon Grey"

I can own Regirock, Registeel, and Regice all with Garchomp.
And Regigigas is a joke due to it's Slow Start. By the time it has started, I can either Prep up my own pokemon a ton and then P-Haze it, or just Sleep powder your ass XD

Having played pokemon black and white already, all I can say that the pokemon look absolutely retarded. The stats on the pokemon arent even worth writing home about. The gameplay was rather cliche and corny from my point of view. IMO, nice for those ppl who aren't hardcore pokemon players and care so much about each detail.

Yeah, sm of the new stuffs is pretty corny. Like is there really a need for triple battles? Seems somewhat gimmicky
and the pokemon this time around is shit ugly. I totally agree
There aren't that many innovations, and competitively, the new changes doesn't warrant itself very well...

BUT
SOME instances are interesting.

For example, Shuckle can learn "Power Share", which averages the att and sp. att between u and ur opponent.
Knowing shuckles ABYSMAL attack and sp. attack, and CRAZY Def and spec def, this makes Shuckle an almost perfect wall.... as long as he can survive the first hit.... aaaand if u put 252 EV on HP. ... luls.. maybe a sub baton-passer can ease its troubles?

I find that the 4x fire resistance is useful. When I ran Skarmory, half the team had a fire weakness.
I also like the ability to set up Toxic Spikes.

I'm really interested in Jalorda (the final grass starter evolution). It's fast and it has the Dream World ability of Antagonist - which means any stat-lowering effects raise its stats instead (and vice versa).

It also happens to learn Leaf Storm, which sharply lowers your Special Attack after use... Sounds like fun to me.

But now you'd have Ground weakness.

But I guess Bronzong and Flygon eases that with your team.

I'm actually thinking about switching out sm of the steels too, b/c the fire weakness in my team is prevalent.
I was thinking switching roserade/heatran sweeper with Gyarados... tho there're probably better choices...

Yeah, having two Levitators certainly helps with that. Plus Empoleon can switch into an Earthquake if I need to with its Shuca Berry. (That used to be my Garchomp counter when it was allowed in OU )

@UU sadly, I understood all of that.

New moves/Dream world abilities are the only nice things I like.
