Are there any ways to prevent a player from zooming out (scrolling out) when a camera is applied?
Something else than "Lock Camera Input" because it completely ruins the purpose of a 3rd person view (which allows you to rotate your mouse).

None.

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

This has been a problem since World Editor. At least SC2 doesn't reset to the default game camera when you hit delete/insert.

Here's a primitive way to solve the problem, because I don't expect Blizzard to have one directly. You can use the "Trigger - Turn Trigger On/Off" action to toggle the lock on the camera if you use this trigger:

LockCamera
    Events
Timer - Every 0.05 seconds of Game Time
    Local Variables
    Conditions
    Actions
Camera - Apply MyThirdPersonCamera for player 1 over 0.0 seconds with Existing Velocity% initial velocity, 10% deceleration, and Don't Include Target

I think the method of applying a camera is "smart" application, like smart panning, where it won't actually run the action if the camera is already properly applied for the player.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

I think you can edit the zooming limits in the data editor under "game data", if you want to disable that.

I had already tried this, and it prevents the player from rotating the camera because X and Y target are set values.
What I currently have is a "Set distance of camera for player" running periodically. :/

I went into "Cameras", and changed the "Default Camera" fields related to Distance respectively to 0, 7.5 and 7.5
I'm not quite sure if it worked, but it looks like it. And in any case, I just decided to let players type "-fix" to re-apply the camera properties. :P

I think it's in this video that it explains how to stop the camera from jumping inside of a cliff wall (like your map does or did before you fixed I'm unsure) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GE0s2d7zXTc

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless
[2024-5-06. : 5:02 am]
Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
[2024-5-06. : 5:01 am]
Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Ultraviolet -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
[2024-5-06. : 12:51 am]
Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
