Now that the whole ''Turtle sux!'' affair is down, well, I came to ask myself: which of the current templates do we want to show as the default skin to new-comers?
I'm still on the side of Epic.

I believe it is important to have a great image on the first view...

I order you to forgive yourself!

Should the Augustgrad be added to the poll even though it's not public yet?

I am currently using Epic. I think I like it more than before for some reasons.

I would like to say that Turtle looks better after the improvements, Epic has this SC1 flare to it, and Maplantis is nice and blue.

I'll vote Turtle since it's what I'm using atm :)

Carbonite, but nobody is remaking it :crybaby:

I'm using Epic currently (though that will probably change when Augustgrad comes out). I think it has a nice, clean look that would make it a good default skin.

I'm using turtle right now, but on the forum interface when reading posts, Epic and Turtle are almost the same, which isn't a big deal. I find Epic has a softer feel with the text and colours. I miss my Epic Red though, can that be brought back? I was using that skin ever since it came out. =(

I never got around to skinning topic pages. I am aware that they can be skinned, but I do not know how flexible the whole thing is. I'd need to see the code to get a feel for what can be done, and then ideally I'd need someone to use that information to design how posts should look in Turtle. Then, I'd try to match whatever image they create.

Classic. Oh wait...

Using Epic as it's the one closest to Classic of those available.
Maplantis: SEN is not supposed to be blue. Hurts my eyes too.
Turtle: Just plain ugly. The top menu at least.

Just here for the activity... well not really

Using Maplantis, because deerwhale, but where's the planets theme? SEN Orange = YES.

That blue one I teased you all with based on the SC2 menus.

I still want Carbonite, but I'm aware that complaining about it with nobody to implement it is rather pointless. No need to get on my case again, Staff :P

SEN does not look good blue, and I'm not quite sure where all the "Turtle sucks!" sentiments are coming from. There is nothing wrong with it, aside from lagging IE horribly when using the scroll wheel.

Turtle as default is good, although there's one thing we should fix: the SC1/SC2 forum toggles. Right now, the defaults hide the SC1 forums, leaving to BW topics being created in forums like "Staredit Network" and such. The inactivity and stagnation of the BW forums can probably be attributed to the fact that newcomers can't find it. Why is the toggle the image it is right now? It doesn't resemble anything Brood War-ish. It should be something like this:

or this:

Both are recognizable as SCBW .exe icons. The current SC I toggle is not. It took me a good while before I figured out what exactly it was supposed to be. The solution: default both SC2 and SC1 forums to show, allow users to manually toggle each off while making it obvious what they are doing.

Even if the blue look is bad, some people still enjoy it and we shouldn't be taking away people's choices in the matter. And I don't even know what that second icon is supposed to be, like an elephant?

I actually already did it, I just never set it so people could use it. I'll have to look up the PM Devourer sent me explaining where to change that in the code, and you'll have Carbonite back.

Another reason I use Maplantis is because of the font size.
