You should make it longer! It feels too short, make it like 15 seconds!

Hello

No, it's the perfect length.
It is not annoying but you notice it well. The loud sound when the lights turn off just makes it awesome.
One of the best and most recognizeable intros I've ever seen (for a website).

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

I can make a slightly longer version as well, just in case. I am thinking of doing other intros, as well, just haven't had time to implement them, yet.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

I think it's pretty much perfect.

If you really want to add eye candy, add a dark green glow around the text.
Not sure about the animation of that glow, maybe make it go more/less opaque when the lights go on/off. Maybe just static glow works or a fading in glow. Would have to see some tests to say what I'd like the most.

Oh and yes, when adding it in front of a tutorial definitely make the music overlap into the actual video and eventually fade it out or at least make it significantly quieter during the actual tutorial.

After watching it over, and over, and over, and over (you get the point) I think if it was the length it is but fades out a little less, or add a second to it before it fades out.

random unrelated question: what did you use to make that?

:payne:

Recommendations:
- 1 second longer
- Fade out
- Surround SEN's logo with green glowing text or something. Right now, it just fits too well the background and it's not eye-catchy: I never tended to actually read what was written ;o (seriously)

Flash.

I was going to do it in After Effects or Avid, but that seemed like a waste for something this small.

I'll add a second to it, I suppose. I don't like the idea of a green glow around it, but I'll add one so you guys can see it. The text pops out to me, especially with the music cue the way it is.

Remember to use the SEN green. A darkish one. Not some bright neon-like green.

Yeah, I'll try it with something closer to the Twitter/YouTube backgrounds I made like this one.

Any progress so far? The intro is starting to grow on me btw. :bleh:

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

Can you upload a mp3 for the intro. I may use this in my map :)

Hello

As said over ICQ, the song is called ""Aggressive Expansion" from the Dark Knight soundtrack"

I imagined the Staredit logo manifesting itself like a protoss warp, against a background of the original Staredit world (the green wireframe world) being overrun with Starcraft II terrain (or each square space becomming a different scenario).

Sounds nice, devlin (or anybody else), you think you are able to do so? :)

I highly doubt it. I can play around with AfterEffects, but don't have the time, resources, or even talent to pull that one off. :P

👻 👾 👽 💪

You could do it by warping in a building with a custom GRP ... it just wouldn't be able to be very big. :P

Is everyone seriously pleased at 100% about our current intro video?
I am still believing the logo isn't eye-catchy enough. Use some "outter glow" effect (color: green) on it.
... and give us a quick fade-out! :)

Devlin is already over it. But apparently he has a lot of other stuff to do, so the first draft will have to be enough for now, unless someone else comes up with something better.
