ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

I can see 8 candles, but not 9. Average life expectancy is barely over 7 right now, and the oldest person alive has to survive 14 more years left to get to her 8th candle.

By the way, this is a very good way to save on candles/cakes when celebrating birthdays. when you start lighting 50 candles on a cake, often times the wax will drip on it, ruining the cake, or the entire thing might go up in flames. It's a whole lot easier to just light 1-7 (though you can also just get those stupid candles shaped like your age.

Didn't have a party because I don't party. The closest I get to a party is when I invite my friends over and we all line up our computers and play SC/HoN/ect. But this year I wanted to longboard with my few friends who do, and that's what we did. It was nice.

Yes, and if I'm not mistaken 7 is barely over 6, not over 7.
But I can see your point now: You meant barely more than the age that swaps over to 7 candles. I was assuming you meant the full range of 7 candles.

That is ... truly sad ... but I guess that's the way you are. While I do think longboarding must be a lot of fun it can't compete with the mischiefs of a bday party. :P
I can still remember my 18th bday party very vividly because it was far better than any computer game can ever be.
Hope you don't regret later -- when you don't have the chance anymore -- not having had such fun.

You didn't have much of an 18th birthday party if you can vividly remember it.

I usually go out for dinner for my birthdays with my family and that's it. Last year I took a flaming shot in front of my entire family (grandpa, 4 aunts/uncles, cousin) of non-drinkers. My dad was thoroughly embarrassed.

The sword and the faith

@Nude
I don't drink, smoke, or 'party' in any of the conventional stupid teenager ways. I consider such acts beneath me. Thanks to the many abusers of various substances I've encountered in my life, I grown to hate the slightest use of any drug, as well as the entire party-and-have-meaningless-sex-with-every-slut-you-can-find subculture that seems to be part of most teenage lives at the current moment. I'd sooner be dead than participate.

Well for one, it takes a lot of alcohol to induce memory gaps for me and maybe vividly was the wrong word. It's more like all sorts of flashes and what I meant was my friends and I talked a lot about all the things that happened -- some of which I can only barely remember myself but have been told about in detail.
Even years later some people were still referring to certain incidents and asked when I would host another such party.
Point is, party time has been a very precious time for me in my youth and the seriousness in life comes all too soon to skip on that when you don't have to. Ex, I think you don't know what you're missing.
And yes now my birthdays are just chilly family get-togethers like Ex would love it. :P

Holy crap, the staffers are younger than me! I'm 18, gonna be 19 in July...
Not all the staffers are... :shifty:
I think I'm the youngest staff, at 16 going on 17.
Actually, I think I am. 16, turning 17 next year.

Happy birthday Ex. I admire your drug free-ness.
