DJ Music Map?

Using action EUDS and having EUDenable, is it possible to play a multiplayer map that lets you hear sounds when pressing a key?
I plan on making a map called DJ music. The purpose of the map will be exactly like farty's Music map whereas 1 player sets up different notes and plays them to create songs. Instead of having a slow shuttle unloading on each n every square, the map will be setup like piano keyboard (i play piano)

This way I can take requests of songs to play and quickly play them to my Starcraft Audience.

If this is possible, i'll be sure to create some fun ddr-like maps as well

EUD Enabler/EUD Actions are irrelevant to EUD condition keypress detection, so you can't do that.

What you can do is hotkey 10 units and you can do selection detection on those, essentially being able to detect the player pressing the ten number keys.

Lol capt, though your idea was REALLY clever, it cannot perform quickly (if i recall). Nowhere near fast enough for music.

Setting up a system like that would be very complicated. Even with hyper triggers working, you're only getting a scan every 12th of a second (approximately) - that's not quite fast enough to play piano imo. Besides this, iirc you can't play two wavs at the same time with triggers. You'd have to set up wav files for every possible note combination within the limits you set, and you'd have to have a starting wav and a middle wav and an end wav if the songs you play call for a note to be held for a while. Besides this, you have to work out some system to detect when a key has been held down as opposed to when it's just been pressed once and then pressed again instantaneously, which happens a lot in music and imo is impossible to detect if you have a system that only checks every 12th of a second.

Sorry, bro - I don't think you can do it.

That's incorrect. You can play as many songs as you want at once.

Also, you wouldn't need to hotkey units, you could use EUD conditions to detect when a key is being pressed. Which, does not require an EUD action enabler.

also i do believe if u put keypress as a condition and play wav as an action it will not desync and it doesnt have much of a delay, pretty much instant.

Yes, but it wouldn't play the wav for everyone. That's another problem.

You could have everyone playing whatever song they want and only hear their own song.

Summarized.

This is what he was asking basically: Does EUDenabler allowed us to finally use EUD keypress detection in multiplayer maps?
Answer: No, it doesn't.

Done, and done.
