Looking for a laid back community while you wait for release? Myself and a few others have started a new fan site called Starcraft Guru in heavy anticipation of Starcraft 2.

We're building a grassroots community from scratch, and we're interested in seeing interesting faces to populate our brand new community.

We're made up of some of the veterans who created Hellgate Guru, but with new interests come new individuals, and we'd love for you to be a part of our fledgling community.

As much as I hate to advertise like this, there isn't many alternatives for us, heh.

Fair enough. Another laid back community, then.

Isn't spamming, rather than just checking out the community and helping the guy with a rather reasonable request, a punishable offense?
Oh-oh-oh, Come on now
Let's lock the world outside
Oh-oh-oh, Come on I tell you now
She's goin' up tonight

Well there'll be smilin', there'll be laughin'
Well that's good enough for me
There'll be dancing all around you
This is where you want to be

Syphon says: you can only suspend, not ban and only on a forum by forum, or shoutbox/wiki/blah basis
Add: He also said "Someone is /wrong/ on the internet"

I don't see anything wrong with this kind of advertising... it doesn't directly benefit him, there isn't anything wrong with the site, and money isn't involved as far as I can tell. Other than the fact that he didn't post a link.

I only see a problem with advertising if its to some crappy invisionfree forum with like 3 members.

I've been to hellgate guru a few times. I was one of the suckers who bought hellgate london at launch and got royally screwed... luckily half a year later its turning out to be a decent game, its certainly no diablo 2 unfortunately (which was what I was hoping it would be). I play it with my friend from time to time, its pretty good. The one thing I really don't like left is their attempt to put in a subscription model, I felt ripped off at the same time as I had the feeling they focused too much on the making money part (probably inherited that from EA) instead of a good story and environment. The idea was all there but they just dropped the ball with it, and asking for a monthly subscription fee is just adding insult to injury.

I wish you best of luck with your new site. I know how hard it can be sometimes, I'll be sure to stop by and check you out.

Yeah. I joined Hellgate Guru nearly 2 years before the game's release. I was really expecting it to be a great game, but the beta let me realize that it was not going to be what we all hoped, so I didn't ever actually purchase it. :P

I told myself that I will have to give it a shot once it had had time to grow, but as for now, I'll just let it be.

Anyway, thanks for your support with the site. We don't really know what else we can do to garner attention, since Starcraft 2 already has a massive collection of fansites.

They are back. Look under 'nomad created units'

http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_StarCraft_II_units

and the parent link...

http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/StarCraft_II

Anyway, I am looking forward to starcraft 2. The graphics aren't up to par yet, but if any of you have seen the beta screenshots of starcraft 1, neither were they, and according to Karune starcraft 2 is in 'pre-alpha'. The graphics were significantly improved a couple months though. I personaly believe that it will be a balanced game and if not, patches to come will fix it just like starcraft 1. I think most of you watched the history of starcraft in 7 minutes video. I think it's funny and will make immortals more unique the fact that they take 10 dammage from nukes, and the roach is not as strong as it sounds. There are a couple things I disagree with but I accept the fact the world doesn't revolve around me.
