2x fastest game speed in Ums melee play/ob map

I want to play a melee game in 2x fastest speed on a map like python or blue storm, etc.
Is this possible?

If so, can someone help me make one? (i have a mac)

Here is a tutorial for increasing map speed. You have to place a player 15 scarab as the first unit on the map.

Do what stickynote said if you want to make your own UMS map for it, you can't make it play in Melee though.

Does it work when placing a sprite instead of a unit? It might work in that case.

Use the Maplantis Wiki. I beleive the fastest speed is either x4 or x8

Psh. When I release TrigPlug it will be so much nicer. :P No order issues, no side effects... just pure (Speed)×(1-32, or higher). And it allows you to change it mid-game. ^^

4x used to be possible but it seems it isn't anymore. Never heard of 8x actually possible. However do some research and prove me wrong. :bleh:

I think I heard of 8x at one point, but I can't remember what unit it used, there was also a way to make only Zealot animation go faster, but once again, forgotten.

The three units that tend to give different speeds were:
Scarab = 4x
Interceptor = 2x
Map Revealer = 1.5x

I might have switched the scarab and interceptor, but I think that's right.

Nuh uh, I specifically disproved that once because of an argument between me and deathknight
I made a map and timed how long it took a unit to go from one side to the other in normal, "map revealer", "interceptor", and "scarab". Map revealer merely speeds up animation, and interceptor and scarab were the same (2x)

I'm lost. So their is no way to achieve 4x,8x speed, or it just hasn't been figured out for 1.15.2 yet? I've personally never even seen a map that is faster ten 2x speed. I might just stick with 2x because things move really fast in 2x. I might not be able to handle 4x,8x :D

Except you run out of your vision on 2x speed, if you play a map without the entire map revealed.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

There was the old method with p14 units:
With 1.15.2 the old method is highly unstable. Weird effects can happen and editing the terrain made me crash the map...
But you can tinker around and create really strange effects.... (omg only neutral units are faster, woot?) (modifying any part of the map may cause a crash ingame.)

There is the new method just using p15 units instead of p14... maybe other players work fine, too...

The p15 scarab works fine except the changes I wrote in the wiki. (most effects were noticed with the attached map p15 scarab)
The game is faster.
p15 interceptor seems to have the same speed...

The p15 map revealer method does not increase the game speed. Animations are faster and shot frequency was raised... (medic heals faster, too)
