Question pertaining to reading maps

I'm currently working on a map for starcraft 2 and I've been drawing inspiration/reverse engineering another map to learn how to do this. I've come into a roadblock though, the map I was given is an unprotected version of a map on the battle.net servers and while it runs fine I cannot read or see any of the triggers the original other used to make the game run. I can access the script but I can't go into the trigger module and see the actual triggers.

My question is, is there a way to convert a script back into triggers (so I can learn from that as opposed to galaxy code) or is there a way I can restore the triggers via modification of the map with an MPQ reader.

None.

I don't think you can restore the galaxy code to the triggers as seen in the GUI without having a copy of the original map. If you can contact the map author, he may be willing to share the map.

Of course, if you know exactly what you want to do, the trigger editor is rather straightforward. If you can't figure out how to do something in the trigger editor, you can post in this section for help: SC Triggers

Thanks Roy, it's just a shame because reverse engineering maps was always the easiest way to learn for me. Once I get around to it you can probably expect me making a post or two there.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
