This maybe a new idea for somthing some1 can create, but really, its to help me make this one map i'm working on, i will post this in the idea compartment too...

Idea: It would be nice to have a program that tells you all the possibilities you canhave from a certain amount of randomized switchs.

Help: I'm half way threw but i got stuck, can someone help me figure out how to get all the possibilities in 7 switchs (128 Possibilities). This is where i'm at...

Binary.

Some people think of it as take the last set and double it. The first copy put a 0 before it, the second copy put a 1 before it.
Examples...
For one switch:
0
1

For two:
00
01 (same as with, but with a 0 in front.)
10
11 (now with a 1.)

For three:
000
001
010
011 (zeroes...)
100
101
110
111 (ones...)

et cetera.
Once you get used to the pattern, you just spam out 0s and 1s... and count in binary. :P

How I think of it is like this...
Think of every one as a 9, and always a 9. When you add 1, it goes over to the next digit. Now add leading zeroes.
9+1=90 (made the 1 a 9)
90+1=99 (made the 1 a 9 again)
99+1=900
That is the actual concept of binary. Rather than each digit being 0-9, it is just 0-1. 9+1=10, binary 1+1=10.

Want an easier way to do it?

1,2,3,4,5,6...128

Just use binary, and when you're converting to switches, go back from binary. I don't know what you plan on using them for, but just give them numbers instead of these combinations.

The way Farty did it was to make one line for each number of S or Cs, so all ones with 4/3 go in one line, 5/2 in the next, etc.

O.o? All I did was count in binary with 7 digits, then turn it into a list and then do a search/replace on every 0 and 1 with C and S (respectively.)
0000000, 0000001, 0000010, 0000011, etc.

Ok, you all js fudging lost me... but i believe you... lol. i'll stare at what you guys told me for awhile and maybe it will make since later.... What is binary? Same as S's and C's?

Binary is a counting system in which the only possible digits are 0 and 1.
It's rules are the same as decimal, your normal counting system (0-9 per digit.)
If you add 1 to the maximum value of that digit (9), you add one more digit and set the first one back to zero. (9+1=10)
In binary, it is 1+1=10. 10+1=11. 11+1=100. 100+1=101. 101+1 = 110. 110+1=111.

... Or open windows calculator, switch to scientific, throw in some number and hit 'BIN' on the left.
