The Zerg have one of the best ground games iirc, but lack a strict ground to air right?
Well a strict ground to air is something nobody has technically. and it doesn't really look like a ground to air role in my opinion.
maybe it's an air unit that just looks retarded.

hard to tell from this silhouette.

Find Me On Discord (Brood War UMS Community & Staredit Network)

It is an Inker. It creates persistent fog of war on a targeted area. Good for stopping enemy Comsats and such.

Actually, I think a unit like that would be awesome, it could also reduce the vision of units inside the cloud but that might be op though

I wouldn't be surprised if Zerg get some sort of cliff-mobile unit. Terran and Protoss both have one, or two if you count Blink. It seems all the zerg gets is moving while burrowed, but really that's just 'slow cloak that can't attack'. They also have nydus worm, but that's really not too different from a warp prism and not an innate unit ability like jetpacks/huge spider legs.

This doesn't look like a potential grasshopper unit, though.

Guess for terran- Walking transformation of the hellion. Can change back and forth with an upgrade. it moves slower in walker mode, but has gains an air attack.

-This makes mech builds less vulnerable to fast air units like mutas (Thors are really slow)

My guess for zerg- Morphs from a roach, long range siege unit. Moves the speed of an infestor, doesn't move burrowed, uses ranged attack upgrade, has a increase range upgrade, maybe splash-maybe an upgrade, probably not, maybe has a spell-probably not. Requires a lair.

-This hopefully is to make terran bio less powerful right around the time they start getting a big mm ball, and maybe medivacs. (Banelings aren't effective anymore once there are enough marines to kill them before they can attack) This would force mm balls to either attack, or retreat instead of camping in one spot.

Pretty sure the Hunterling or the other Zergling morph has cliff-walking abilities from articles/press releases I read a while ago. (Singleplayer only if I recall correctly)

The Terran silhouette seems like an infantry unit, the shield (right arm) looks to be like the medics shield/Stettman model. But the turret on it's head definitely looks like a flamethrower...

I do like the idea of the fast moving Hellion transforming into an armoured immobile flamethrower turret type thing.

Also thinking the Zerg silhouette is a roach-morph. Maybe anti-ground/armoured long range / reaver-type unit. :3

It's obviously an air unit. It has an energy ball in the middle of it. This thing is going to be powerful I know it.

I hope it replaces the Phoenix, but I doubt Blizzard would take out a unit.

Oct 18 2011, 2:29 am TiKels Post #53

It's obviously a mothership morph.

Blizzard have already suggested they will be taking units out.

I think Terran will probably get the biggest revamp. I read a snippet of an interview recently where they were saying Terran was the hardest race to balance, simply because all of their units were so flexible. But they didn't want to take a unit out or rebalance things bacause that would be too big of a nerf and not 'fun'. Hence they'll do it in the expansion where they can attempt to justify it for storyline purposes, as well as part of a wider change that applies to all of the races at once.

Basically it means that you're going to have to upgrade to HotS if you play competitively, because Blizzard are going to drop WoL like a box of rocks when it comes to more balancing etc. Just like they dropped vanilla SC.

As for the unit itself, yeah, it's most likely an air unit, but we can't be sure. If you saw a silhouette of the Protoss Sentry, would you think it was an air unit too?

Protoss version of a Battlecruiser.
I can't imagine which unit they'd take away from Terran, let alone adding more.

Edit:

Posted on TeamLiquid forums.

I think they'd have to take away a bunch of terran units at once and replace them with slightly less good units.

They'll almost certainly do something with the under-utilised Reapers, Helions are a good bet. Tanks might be altered (like the goliath range upgrade in BW) but would remain largely the same - some sort of "either-or" upgrade that affects all of your tanks at once for example, like shorter range + heavier damage or same range + increased firing rate. I can imagine vikings and probably banshees getting tossed out too.

Can't see this happening at all... Blizzard will just introduce a patch into the game like they did for World of Warcraft before Cataclysm was released. It just seems wrong to FORCE people to buy the new HotS, to play the new multi-player units. After all the HotS is more focused upon the campaign then it is online is it not?

I've heard nothing that supports anything that you have said here.

Also that analogy doesn't make sense. Blizzard adds patches to WoW prior to expansions. but the people who don't buy the expansions still can't access all the new things added other than a few new areas to explore. That would be the equivalent of them allowing WoL players to only use WoL units in games against players who have all the HotS units as well. They'll most likely separate the games like they did in SC1 and Brood War.
