Basically, everyone who plays should be given a pseudonym. Only inferno knows all the pseudonyms; mafia know all the mafia pseudonyms. That way, people can't say I hit Devlin, they can only say I hit Joe. This adds to the general confusion and means people don't start hitting people they don't like or are admins or whatever.

Hey, I really like this idea for no particular reason other than it's a great idea.
Makes it impersonal, the fun of mafia is knowing that you did X. Otherwise you might as well be playing with a bunch of random people on the internet.

I nominate myself for Mayor. I can't promise much, except that I'll weed out all the Mafia scum and execute them publicly for your entertainment. I'll also save many, if not most, if not all other Townies. I'll also hold a massive celebration afterwards like none this town has ever seen. There will be cake and various flavors of ice cream to be determined. If you would like to make a flavor request, please speak with the caterers and they'll make a note of it.

It's all white knights and heroes, and when the bad apples are pitted against the other bad apples, good guys often end up in casualty reports. Everything begins with an insignificant, grassroots event that eventually sprouts into a tree that spawns these bad apples. For our purposes, let's declare this event erupted from some simoleons that one guy owed to another that escalated into becoming a full-blown war that has caught innocent townspeople in a crossfire, left to fend for themselves and ultimately rise up against the invaders that have made incursions into their quaint, rural community...
All was quiet in the Infernoville town hall apart from a cadence of downpour systematically clattering along the shingles of the roof coupled with the occasional thundering, and the quiet sound of Mayor lil-Inferno's pen gliding across paperwork. The colonial-era esque portraits of previous leaders in lil-Inferno's lineage glared down the hall leading down to the oval office. Just as lil-Inferno had completed his distinct signature on paperwork to deny a referendum, gunfire exploded just outside the office. One of lil-Inferno's bodyguards had stood up, armed, and attempted a resist for the sake of lil-Inferno's defense. He ended up with a high concentration of lead tearing through his head, spattering blood all across the portrait of Franklin Delano Infernovelt. LoTu)S (Mafia Family 1 Don), accompanied by one of his goons kicked down the door to lil-Inferno's office. lil-Inferno and one of his bodyguards raised their hands, waving the white flag.
"Hello lil-Inferno. Long time no see." LoTu)S said as he whipped out a pistol, pointing the barrel at lil-Inferno's forehead from about a meter away.
"Now, now... there's no need to be rash here... put down the gun and hear me out, Mr. LoTu)S. I know you've come to kill me but come on, you'll only be killing a single ma--" pleaded lil-Inferno.
The man LoTu)S had brought with him went on to guard the door.
"My apologies, but that's not going to happen. From your angle it might look like a stroke of bad luck, but the truth is, we had this machination all rigged from the start." The bodyguard accompanying lil-Inferno smiled, lowered his arms, and moved over with LoTu)S and his man.
"Well, shit... Take a step forward lad, it'll be easier that way. Go on, don't be bashful, just fucking sho-" were lil-Inferno's final words.
LoTu)S pulled the trigger, inserting a hunk of metal into lil-Inferno's head, propelling his body to the ground.
"As you wish." LoTu)S showed a thumbs down while staring into lil-Inferno's now lifeless body.
Meanwhile...
"I've got enough C4 here to blast through the building's general structure and bring it down to rubble." said one of xAngelSpiritx's (Mafia Family 2 Don) men.
"Fire in the hole!" The C4 exploded, blowing a large hole in the side of the town hall, and also making LoTu)S and his men visible.
"FUCKING SHIT, IT'S TIME TO GO!" shouted the first family's sleeper agent.
The first Mafia family nimbly escaped out of the building that was now collapsing, catching the face of xAngelSpiritx. The second family had fired a few rounds at them as they escaped, ultimately realizing they had gotten away, and only catching the face of LoTu)S prior to their escape. Both families disseminated after losing the heat.
With the loss of Mayor lil-Inferno, the town now had to elect new leadership.
** DAY 1 START **
Vote for who will become the new Mayor. You may not vote for yourself, but you may vote for someone else or abstain from voting (by specifying this). Failure to show up (not posting at all) for voting two times in a row will end up with a lightning bolt striking you.
Whoever wins the Mayor election will choose ONE person to execute on this day, no questions asked (apart from dons).
LoTu)S may not run for Mayor.
xAngelSpiritx may not run for Mayor.
Everyone else is fair game.
