StarCraft has them in tileset\*\*.pcx. They are palette reindexing tables... The X-axis corresponds with the color it is replacing, the Y-axis corresponds with the color in the grp.
I don't know if that is more/less helpful. :P

If you don't care about them being transparent I have pal files prepared that you can use to export them. (Though if you do use the palette reindexing table it should ignore the source palette as it is by palette indexes, not actual colors.

Are you no longer hosting this on a website? People will generally be wary of downloading an EXE, whereas an in-browser flash applet like you had earlier is direct and immediate.

Haven't tried the EXE, but from what I played of the earlier online version, I really like what you have so far. Will each powerup have an individual graphic, or are you sticking to the mystery boxes? It would be nice to know what it is by looking at it, so you know what to expect when you grab it, or if it's worth it to you at that moment to risk the venture. For instance, if you have full health, you can ignore a health pack, but if dying you'll be scrambling around looking for one. Starcraft has plenty of powerup sprites that could work for the various effects.

Will there be any attacking or hit sounds and graphics? It can be hard to tell when you're taking damage.

in-browser java or flash would be great, unfortunately that wasn't working at all anymore.. so now its just the .exe version

the powerups are (temporary) removed, instead you collect minerals and purchase upgrades, weapons etc

what kind of powerup sprites were you thinking of? there is a great variety of icons that i am using for the purchase menu, but some more objects would be nice..

there are attack animations and sounds on everything except the defiler (since it doesn't have an attack)

i hope you trust me enough to download the .exe and try it out, there are still empty spaces on the hiscore list ;)

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

the bug still exists.

round ended while I still saw a burrowed defiler. But that one didn't unburrow and attack me.
One round later there was still defilers around and the menu poped up and the defiler killed me.

edit:
Drone corpses stay there forever. Defiler's ones don't. Maybe just increase the fading out time.

doesn't some remains of each defiler stay there forever?

the burrowed defilers doesn't count towards clearing the level, i think it would be lame to go around the entire board looking for the last hard-to-see black spots.

i didn't think that bug would occur that often, you need to be picking up the last mineral exactly while a defiler is unburrowing, but i promise to fix it for the next version.

Great so far, SWW!

Level 5 seriously kicked my ass. When I played there was like 50 (not kidding) mutas, ~20 drones, ~30 defilers (NOTE: I'm assuming there was this much.)

Maybe do an AOE weapon upgrade? :P

cheat engine ey.. i might be able to make it a bit harder for you to cheat then ;) but its always a possibility..

i didn't quite get your point lotus.. are the movement speed upgrades to good, or do you mean the enemies are getting to strong to fast? the curve will be slower, just need more levels.

I think he means you can get too many upgrades by level 5.

Love the game so far. My highest is 2002 points, but I've only played twice. Can't wait to play more of it.

Hello

Ideas for amulets:
-> increase range of attracting mineral chunks
-> 10% chance of critical hit (x10 damage or whatsoever)
-> Psi Emitter: Attracts all nearby enemys to you but orders all enemies which are further away to the edges (away from you)
-> Healing amulet: 5% lifesteal?
-> Splash Damage: in a radius of X it deals X % to all enemies in area of your actual damage
-> Slowing amulet: -10% movement speed of nearby enemies

Abilities:
-> Tanks: spawns some tanks on the map, attacking ground units for some secs
-> nuke?
-> Temporarly cloaked?

Powerups:
MedicKits, Haste(max move speed), rage(max attack speed)

You can cheat and have super speed along the edges of water if you don't walk exactly parallel to it but like 30°-80° towards it.

This was extremely entertaining! I played it once normally, then retried it with cheats, and lemme just say, 4th weapon, level 200 attack speed, 25 movement speed = epic win. Of course, I ended up doing more splash damage to myself than it was worth :P
