I am trying to buy some t-shirts from t-shirt hell, but i am not 18. So today i went to my bank and bought a pre-paid visa gift card. I go to paypal to complete a transaction, low and behold that my card was not validated. Does anyone have any experience with this, and could they help me? thanks alot.

Well this is ridiculous. Every time i tried again, paypal CHARGED the card 1.00$. Fuck paypal.

I think paypal always requires you to link your account to your bank account. Plus I don't think paypal likes debit cards.

Why don't you try buying the T-Shirt directly with the gift card instead?

The $1.00 charge is there to insure that the card is real. Its like when you pay for gas on a debit card, and they charge you $25. It should be credited back into your account.
That is, unless being under 18 has some funky tax. That'd amuse me.

The reality is that if the tshirt company accepts PayPal, they accept credit cards through paypal. You don't even need an account. It should be one of the options when you click the credit card/paypal logo. Of course they hide it; PayPal can't float any money if you pay directly from a card...

Yeah im pretty sure its because you are using paypal. Since you got that credit card just use that instead of paypal.
lol the reason for paypal= protect identy... but if its a prepaid card you have nothing to worry about because if someone gets that card number, its not like they can charge thousands of dollars on it.
You can't just say use credit card, instead of paypal.

Buy whatever makes you happy, but don't use paypal until you have the responsibility of a Bank account linked to it. I've been known to blow $100 at a time on occasion when I should've probably been paying some cash to my college >< Oh well, don't take out your anger on Paypal, they're legit.

I talked to someone on live support over the phone, his name was john btw. Anywho, he basically told me that paypal does not accept prepaid visa cards. My other option is to link my paypal to my bank account.

When I first used Paypal to make online purchases, I used my mother's credit card to create my account. Anytime I would make an online purchase via Paypal, I would just pay my mother the amount I was spending off of her card in cash.

It was easy and effective. One of the purchases was even off of T-Shirt Hell. (lol "Mexican't")

Now that I am 18 years old, I use my own credit card now.

If you get a giftcard you have to activate it, or else it wont work. They usually have a number or website to do this.
