If those old record discs or any other recording devices were invented back in the renaissance period... I wonder how many albums Mozart would've sold in a day...

I bet just for Marriage of Figaro, which is written for the royal family, everyone'd've gotten one (or forced to) XD

Just Here For The Pie

After releasing Twilight Of The Innocents, front-man Tim Wheeler of Ash said, "With the advent of the download, the emphasis has reverted to single tracks. When you're tied to the album format, you find yourself waiting six months between finishing a record and releasing it. By leaving this behind, we can record a track and release it the next day if we feel like it. We're the first band to do this, but I very much doubt we'll be the last."

Albums are a dying species, and they have always been a personal favorite for me as I am a collector. Now one of my favorite bands is going all digital.

Barenaked Ladies in 2005 released Barenaked On A Stick on a USB Flash Drive. They were the first band to do this, but it lacked much audio quality. Some car stereos now feature a port for Flash Drives (My friend has one and puts all his music on his 4GB Flash Drive for driving).

It just seems that the album is being replaced by a greater force. We all need to take a hint from Dethklok and keep the tunes analog recordings, but at this rate, nothing is topping N Sync... No Strings Attached.

I like albums. Sometimes, a good artist has flow from song to song in an album, and get a long story going, and interludes add to the storyline.

I agree, no form of media can replace the enjoyment of a well put together CD.

A playlist? I download whole albums and then edit the mp3 information so that they are all properly arranged.

A wise guy eh? >:(

I don't think a CD can do anything better than a torrent can. The booklets can be scanned btw. ;o

Also, I had something else to say (probly would've blown your mind) but i forgot what it was due to TV.

Unless you take into account that the torrents are a direct, in-order rip of the CD and so your point is invalid. :bleh:

Torrents are illegal if you wanna bring in how P2P Networking is 'illegal'

I only torrent because the music I listen to no longer is released on Vinyl or CD.

Torrents are not illegal if you making them an analogy of P2P because you are never making available of fully useable, copyrighted file. You are distributing a piece of it.

N Sync Holds The Record For Most Albums Sold In A Day.
Do you think it is possible for an artist today to break that record?
I'm sure if the music industry did the right advertising and promotion for some band, all the emo kids in the world would beat that record.

NudeRaider -- PSA: ASUS apparently decided their RMA department needs to "become profitable" and for a while now outright tries to scam customers. They were called out on it a year ago, promised to change, but didn't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pMrssIrKcY so my recommendation: Stop buying ASUS, and if you already have and need something RMA'd, make sure to not let them bully you into paying.
