You should've put Final Fantasy Tactics as an option instead of spin offs. FFT is the best IMO.

I'm with the FFT crowd. Tactics had the best story, variety, and battle system. Even if it wasn't a true final fantasy. But FF7 is second to it. And games like FF8 and FFX which people rank high for some reason rank very low for me, I hated the characters of these games and the terrible voice acting in X totally killed it for me.

FF8. Best story - it had the same depth and style as ff7's, but it also added a little something called 'mood and atmosphere'. The FMVs were to die for, and you could even more yor charcter around in the foreground in some of them(totally blew me away).

The actual battle system of junctioning your magic to your stats had never been done and hasn't been done since. Limit breaks where much more common and totally more badass looking than 7, 9, or 10's. The summon cinematics were to die for. Your summons were better like fucking pokemon and learned things. The only thing I would complain about is the damage cap of 9999 for physical attacks.

And most importanly GUNBLADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111111ONEONEOENOEONEO

I loved FF1 -- mainly because I love old style games such as that.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

Final Fantasy X got be hooked on the series, so I have to choose that. It's also the only one I've gone back to play more than 5 times.

You know what, you're absolutely RIGHT! I loved waiting for 10 minutes to cast a summon and doing nothing but drawing spells out of enemies for hours strait it certainly added a lot to the game!

I'll agree that FFX's voice acting could have been improved, but it was pretty decent most of the time.

Maybe I should play tactics. Was that Ps1? I never had a ps1. I played ff7 on ps2 and it sucked because of that reason. I had to use the dpad directionals to move and it didn't take long for my thumb to start cramping up. Is it the same way on tactics? ;/

You need to use the dpad for Tactics but its different in that game. Its not free roaming and the dpad controls movements in battle which will be good because its setup as a grid.

heres the best parts of all final fantasy games ive played

ff1-it started the series
ff2-didnt play much of it
ff3-MAGIC ORPHANS!
ff4-good story
ff5-WUT MAKE MOGS FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU?!<3
ff6-Playable mog, espers, nuff said.
ff7-3d? WHO PUT THESE 4 POLYGONS ON MY HEAD? but seriously, in my opinion compelling story, great minigames, i love the golden saucer :P, stuff to do after you beat the game like the weapons, golden saucer dont forget CHOCAMABO SECKS, ride them chocobos.
ff8-great grammars for the time, now not so much. In my opinion i had more fun with 7 and 9
ff9-Vivi... yes that bish be sexy...
ff10-OH MA GOD, SO PRETTY... cough.. for the time, still holding up in certain areas today, had a full script of voice acting though some say it could be better i liked it. Lots of stuff to do after you beat it such as blitzball and al bhed primers; on the subject of blitzball that sheet is insane, if i was square id make it a downloadable game on the PSN and xbox arcade, make it have customizable characters, teams, ranking systems the full works a sports game gets.
ff11-Well, i never got to play it, though i know people who have, seemed really fun good graphics; bad news you needed a good PC or to spend a good sum on a playstation harddrive to play it.
ff12-New battle system, though fun i would of liked to switch back to the old style at times, main character is annoying -_- its in the world of FFTA which i have an uber grudge on thanks to it killing the FFT name.
fft- AMAZING game, fully customize your troops, lots of secrets, pretty unique(note i didnt say completely :P) for the time, Great story, great characters, great drama, overall my favourite in the series. Also RIDIN CHOCOBOS IN KOMBAT!! & Hey Delita... I'm a frickin ninja....
chocobo racing-Great fun, lots of hidden characters, really fun party game, you got a nintendo? mario kart, playstation? chocobo racing is basically the equivelent.
ffta- Dude, good art, thats about it for me... its on an isometrical field which is good, but it limits classes to races, it has retarded rules, a pretty lame story, and its not like serious toned like fft, more pastel and puffy for the kids.

I'm not going to talk about all the crystal cronicles because the only one ive played was the gamecube one which was fun except needing ridicious hardware ruining the multiplayer and the carrying the chalice part seemed retarded ruining the fun for like 25% of the players which alot, and in singleplayer that moogles pathing needed work...

I have, however, played Chrono Trigger, which is a JRPG I like even though in general I don't like JRPGs

I also enjoy FFT- it is my 2nd favorite behind 9; however, if Chrono Trigger (made by the same company) was in this competition, it'd rank higher than any FF game.

The problem with Final Fantasy games are that they are too liniar.

FFT was a franchise right?

Well if it wasn't then can't Square Enix/soft (the makes of FF right?) look at their success from trying something new? FF needs to take a crack at Elder scroll styled games. I'd buy an system just for that game if they did.

I voted FF7. I loved playing FF1, and I would say the best way to compare those games is to keep them in respect to what else was out at the time. FF7 just wins it for me because I happened to be most moved by the story.

Also, Rikku was definitely my favorite character in FFX, only to be whored out in FFX-2 :(

Final Fantast 8 had a pretty sweet story, and junctioning totally kicked ass. The summoning leveling up was also really sweet. And uh, best miny game by far, the card game...

FFT owns hands down though, all this talk about it makes me want to play right now. Seriously, ive spent so much time playing games by my self or with my bro or friend doing different stuff, like all archer team, all knights with doublehand and teleport team and all the other good stuff like that. Tactics was also sweet cause you could totally play it 2 player, just switch off with the controller and divide up the characters.

FFTA wasnt nearly as cool, it was not serious enough, nobody dies....

I also liked ff5 alot, it was pretty fun for what it was.

Oh ya, and did any of you ever play Final Fantasy Adventure for the gameboy? That game was so sweet! it was kind of like the zelda GBA games, and they pretty much remade it with sword of mana but it wansnt nearly as cool.
