SO, Starcraft 2 is colorful no more. That's good.
No it still utilizes 32-bit color, or 64-bit.
2^32 = 4294967296 colors
2^64 = 18446744073709551616 colors
Thats not colorful.
lol
I mean.... that annoying brilliance caused by the high contrast. Don't try to make me fall in word games. Also, I'm capable of using a calculator, too.

just because a computer can recognize a set amount of colours doesnt mean the human eye can. Estimated numbers are "million and millions" not a very good estimate i know but its definately not in the quintillion range...

Aside from that, current monitors can only display 65536.
None.
Of course, technology builds upon itself. By the time the final SC 2 Expansion is released, I'm sure we could do if anything, slightly better.

assuming we buy the latest and most high tech monitors, also i'd like to point out which im extatic for as i think its ridiculous is that some new games are being released req. windows vista for DirectX10 which is just plain silly as to why dX10 requires vista as it really doesnt aside from being like the only positive thing vista has to offer aside from being easier and more convient to some novice computer users.
Starcraft 2 however does not require vista nor directX10 however will possibly have some special effects available for it
like i care about some special effects. Let us hope windows 7 mops up the spill on isle vista.

Oh? Which channel gets 1 extra color?
Also I disagree. I just placed several blocks of decrementing colors (#ff0000, #fe0000, #fd0000, etc.) and as I look I can see they are different. And because I am on an LCD screen I can look at different angles to show that they are indeed different.
EDIT:
I just placed every shade of #f00, #ff0, #0f0, #0ff, #00f, #f0f, and #fff. Unless only certain shades are their own color, I believe this to display each one differently.

Citing an article about, among other things, the indistinguishable differences between shades of red offered by lipstick makers, the human eye cannot determine those incremental differences in color. There is very little purpose to increasing the palette range when you can't even tell the differences between these shades.
None.
um i can see the difference in shades quite easily...
EDIT: It says the AVERAGE human eye, fuck your article calling me a whore ! >:O
None.
i too can see the difference, however it takes a little longer then a glance.
None.
I also can see the difference. lol.
Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
I would say that the right red picture has more blue inside as the left one...
Actually, the one of the left is slightly brighter. Perspective wise anyways.
None.
I see the right one noticeably darker, even before I read it. ;o

the left one is darker for me o.O

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.
You're all just making stuff up.
Possibly some reasons why you all suck:
- Bad monitor contrast/brightness.
- Monitor glare/angle.
- Bad eyes.
- Incorrect image encoding/decoding/rendering.
- Bad display settings.
- Imagination; What you're "looking for", "wanting to see".

Same here.
I hate those pretentious things that call me pretentious.
The right one, darker it is.

So to NOT note the difference we have to have a perfect vision, a perfect monitor, the perfect image encoding, the perfect monitor view angle and the proper display settings?
That's pretty outstanding and definetely not average, imo.
fuck you all
You know one of reasons, besides the physical impossibility HOW I know you're all bullshitting? Because, for instance, Corbo, Farty, and Hug a Zergling claimed that the right square was darker.
Well guess what? The left one is visibly darker, due to the hues that make the colours up. Don't believe me? Open it up in paint and overlay them. And aside from that, they are actually the EXACT SAME LUMINOSITY.
