I was wondering if hotseat was possible to implement into a map. I think you might be able to do it in turn based games by giving all units owned by player 1 to player 2 and then first person goes then give all units owned by player 2 to player 1 and then the second person goes and it goes like that. Anyone else got any other ideas on how to do it?

It's where you can play against each other from the same computer.

So like, players take turn controlling the same set of units?

You could do it via countdown timer on like a Risk map.

So Player 1 would have to use Player 2's units to kill him and visa versa for Player 2? Sounds interesting.

Ok sorry, I was tired when I created this. I'll try to explain it.

It's where like you and your brother can play a turn based game against each other on the same computer. You'd basically put player 1 as a human. Player 2 as a computer. And wherever player 2's units are those would represent the 2nd person's units. Player 1's units would be the 1st person's units. You would trigger it like exactly X minutes have passed then you would give all the units owned by player 2 to player 1 and voila it's the second person's turn. And after another X minutes pass give them back to player 2 and it's first person's turn. It's kinda hard to explain in text I'd much better show you an example map.

well sure its possible, but what two people would want to use the same computer?

Well, if they only have 1 computer in the house, and only 1 SC disk...

So it's kind of like those Worms/Worms Armageddon games.

Yea, so you take turns controlling your personal set of units. It's more than easy to make; player 1's "first human" player's set of units would technically belong to say player 2 when it is not his/her turn. Player 1's "second human" player's set of units would technically belong to player 3 when it is not his/her turn. So two people using the same computer, playing the same game, only that each player takes turns taking control of the mouse and keyboard depending on whose turn it is.

Now, what kind of game would you make using this concept?

I have no idea, I just think this is a cool but easy concept. But yea MillenniumArmy is right that's how you do it.

Yeah this was mentioned in that turn-based ship game in Map production.

Sure it's possible, but I don't think it's worth the time to develop. I'd bet that the hotseat option would be obsolete for almost all starcrafters except for those select magical moments when your friend is over and you feel like playing a game. Which are too rare IMO. :(

But yeah it would be very awesome!! to incorporate it into the ship game in Map production although it would be a waste of time IMO.

One cool thing could be a team-based thing where one guy operates the mouse and another guy operates the keyboard? Like constantly pressing "M" or something?

Yea that's pretty much impossible with triggers but you could just do that with your friend sitting next to you lol...But that's so easy it wouldn't require more than 5 minutes.

alright if it only takes 5 minutes to incorporate it into a map, then yeah its DEFINITELY worth it!

It's too easy though it'd be pointless.
