This happened about an hour ago:

I was in the library in front of my laptop. I happened to be sitting alone in this table and right in front of me is another table full of people. Now these two tables were like in the middle of all the book stacks if you know what i mean, so my table and the other table were like in its own secluded space. Basically, it was only me and the other people at the other table in a very very quiet place...

I was rewatching some anime episodes; i had headphones on. The back of my laptop was facing the other table so i could just look over my screen and see what those people were doing. But anyways...

Just minding my own business, watched some funny moments, and then all of a sudden I farted. And it was loud; so loud I could even hear it through my headphones. "OH SHIT..."

I made a quick glance over at the other table, and EVERY person there was staring at me. I quickly looked away and out of a whim, kept a straight face the whole time. From the corner of my eye, I believed I saw them laughing or something. And the thing is, they were all rather cute asian giris too...

It was IMO very embarrasing. But then reflecting back on my situation, what should I have done seriously? As in, should I have just kept a straight face pretending that it was actually a noise my chair made or something? Or should I have just straight out said "Oops sorry"? The situation would've changed gravely if I had a friend next to me at that time (because then he would've bursted out laughing and would probably move away immediately)

If you guys were in my situation where you suddenly and unintentionally let out a big rip and everyone sees you do it, what would you have done right away?

I'd have tried to flee, but I think cute asian girls have a higher speed, so that plan would fail.

Truthfully, what you would have done, lay off the beans man!

Become ashamed, guilt-ridden, and introverted. Chicks dig self-loathing.

well in that situation you've got nothing left to lose. so i recommend you nod suggestively on the off chance that at least one of them has a weird fetish.

who the hell cares? farting is natural and if they laugh, they're hypocrites.. give them the finger.
(this doesn't mean you should do it anywhere, if you can avoid it .. -_-)

In your situation, I would have promptly, with my laptop, went to a site that makes farting noises.

And not have made a thread about it. ;)

Well, saying "Excuse me." would be proper. Or you could just laugh at yourself as Syphon says.

In my opinion saying some sort of witty joke would be best, because people generally will immediately forget about your fart. If you can't think of anything within a few seconds time just stick with the suggestions above.

Stick both my thumbs up with a big grin and pretend like I'm a fucking god to let out a fart so loud the whole room noticed.

I tried to pretend nothing happened. But obviously something DID happen and Im pretty sure those people at the other table knew what exactly happened. I was talking to my roomate about this and he was like look they know you already did it and you can't hide it; hiding it makes it even worse as it gives people the impression that you just don't care and have no manners, so its best straight up apologize or something. But yea w/e lol

It's far more likely that watching anime in public ruined your chances anyways.

1) You shouldn't have been watching in the library when you have a room.
2) You shouldn't be watching anime.
3) Asian girls are never cute. :P

Sure they do. They must just somehow teleport it to all the obese females, as they do it in great excess.

I'm sure if you saw one of those people again, they wouldn't even recognize you as "that guy who farted in the middle of the library."
It happened to me once in the middle of class... Sure people laughed, but the next day (hell, even the same day like 5 minutes later) nobody cared.

EDIT:

What?! [Almost] all asians are hot. xC

And what is so wrong with anime? Sure it can be strange at times...
