Anyone know of a good sound extraction program?

I'm trying to extract sound from a .gcf file from a monopoly game. I tried getting different versions by different publishers but they all seem to be using .gcf.
I've tried GCFscape but it gave me some sort of error about hllib.

If it's only a few sounds you're wanting, one option to consider is a program that records sounds directly from your sound card as they're being played, then you can just chop them up in a sound editor program later.

Hmmm I tried your suggestion Lanth. Setup the stereo mix but seems that the sounds arent being captured with Audacity.

Sound > Recording
Stereo Mix
Realtek High Definition Audio
Enabled

Sound >Playback
ATI HDMI Output
Default Device

All options in Audacity are setup for the proper playback and recording as listed above.

Any suggestions?

I don't believe Audacity is able to put an output device as an input device unless you use a patch cable to plug the line out to the line it.

If the error you are getting is a missing library or something, you might try to find it? What error specifically are you getting?

Just Here For The Pie

Anything your computer plays, Audacity can record. You have to set the recording option to "What U Hear".

I have had trouble getting the "What U Hear' option to work with laptops. Please make sure you do not have a microphone plugged in when you start the program up or else Audacity will only want to record with that microphone.

Sadly, utilizing this feature will not record the sound you want in stereo, only mono.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

you have to enable stereo mix in windows 7.

you also have to show disabled devices. Then you have to make sure it's not muted or something.

You may need to output to the main analog output (likely labeled "Speakers") to get anything on the stereo mix input. Mine is this way. If you are trying to capture sound from a program that does not let you specify the sound output device, you must set Speakers as the default in Windows.

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
