So here's the riddle. I need it done by tonight. It's one of those, "If Jill is sitting 2 seats away, where is Mark" etc. But even harder.

The Riddle:
During a chemistry class, five pairs of students are working on five different experiments at a row of lab stations numbered 1-5 consecutively. From the information given below, can you tell what each students' experiment is, at which lab station he or she is working, and who his or her lab partner is?

Clues:
1. The halogens experiment and all the other experiments are performed by lab partners of the opposite sex. For example, Ann Ion's partner is a boy.
2. Milli Liter and Ben Zene work together.
3. Charles Law does not work at lab station #2.
4. Molly Cool and her partner work between station #3 and the station occupied by Barr Um.
5. Phyllis Pipet, building a spectroscope, is not at #4
6. Milli Liter does not work next to Molly Cool
7. Earl N. Meyer works at #4
8. Ionic reactions are being carried out at #5
9. Hal Ogen is building a small-scale balance
10. Only one of the Um twins. Fancie or Barry, works at station #1 doing an acid-base titration

What I have so far (possible but not confirmed right answers):
-Milli Liter and Ben Zene work together.
-Of the Um twins, Barry Um is working at table #1
-Molly Cool is working at table #2
-Phyllis Pipet is at table #3
-Earl N. Meyer is at table #4
-Phylis Piper and Hal Ogen are working together at table #5
-Scratch that, because Hal Ogen is building a small scale balance but Ionic Reactions are at table #5

You forgot that Milly is with Ben...Also, I'm assuming "Fancie" means "Francie"?

oh yeah haha, got it. and yeah this is for my chem class if you couldn't guess. All the names are so cleverly derived form chemistry terms, like Halogen/Halo Gen....so brilliant

I'll put a couple things in other words:

Hal Ogen is not at #1, 4, 5.
Molly Cool is at #2 or 4. If she works at #4, it means that she is with Earl N. Meyer.
Charles Law is not at #2, 4.
Milli Liter + Ben Zene.
Barry Um is not at #2, 3, 4. He may be at 1 or 5. If it happens that he is at five, that means that he is at the Ionic reaction. He is at #1.
Ann Ion is not at #1, 5. (I made a mistake by assuming she did not work at 5. It doesn't really say that.) She is not with Barry Um.
Phyllis Pipet is not #1, 4, 5. She is building a Spectroscope. She is not with Barry Um.
Fancy Um is not at working at the Spectroscope or the Halogens. She may be at 1. She is not at #1 because it makes an impossible case with Barry at #5.
Earl N. Meyer works at the #4. He is not working at the Spectroscope.

The Ionic reaction is at the #5.
The Acid-base titraction is at #1.
The Small-scale balence is not at #1, 4, 5.
The Spectroscope is not at #1, 4, 5.
The Halogens are not at #1, 5.

i did this EXACT same one in the third grade... Gifted and Talented ftw.

Barry Um is not at #2, 3, 4. He may is at 1 (says it in the last clue)or 5. If it happens that he is at five, that means that he is at the Ionic reaction. , doing a Acid-based titration (see above in the red)
Ann Ion is not at #1, 5. She is not with Barry Um.
Phyllis Pipet is not #1, 4, 5. She is building a Spectroscope. She is not with Barry Um. She's at #3 Assuming Phyllis is a boy, so she can't be with Molly who is at #2, she must be at 3
Fancy Um is not at working at the Spectroscope or the Halogens. She may be at 1.
Earl N. Meyer works at the #4. He is not working at the Spectroscope.

Is it that kind of puzzle? That page gives steps to solve it.

I won't go farther than asking you to question your own honesty, but if this is an assignment for credit, extra or otherwise, that is meant to be completed on your own, you really shouldn't be asking for help.

Yeah it's actually pretty close to that puzzle. Looking it over, the same basic steps can kind of be manipulated to solve this one. Haha, thanks for showing it to me after we got the answer ;p
Its good to know though.

And BC, it's whatever. The world is not at an end, my grade is in tact, and my dignity is in tact. I don't mind asking for help. For you, maybe it's sin #666, not for me. Human's are not honest by nature, I'm following nature ;o

I've solved one of these on my own without any help.

Also I remember getting extra credit questions like this in highschool ... I loved doing them myself. ;o

I was going to say it was Einstein's puzzle.
It is claimed that no more than 2% of the population can solve it... poor civilization... it's easy : it's all about logic. Only requires time and will.
