I made a simple little graphic and tried putting it in SC. I know you have to convert it to SC's palette, so I extracted wessel.grp, decompiled it, opened the resulting BMP, pasted my custom graphic over it, resaved the BMP, and recompiled. But when I look at the GRP ingame, the colors are still borked. Help?
None.
What program did you use and what palette file? Can I see the source (to be compiled) bitmap or the grp? ;o

I tried with both PyGRP and SFGRPConv. Both decompiled and displayed wessel.grp fine, but neither worked when I tried my custom graphic.
I deleted the stuff so I can't show you. >.>
Could it be something to do with Windows 7?
None.
Windows 7 is not the problem. I have already applied my own custom GRP's in W7.
SFGRPConv comes with some palette files. I think PyMS too, in the Lib folder. I think. Also, have you made sure you were viewing the GRP in with the unit palette (PyGRP)? Derp.
I've done EVERYTHING correctly. I used the correct palettes and everything. And I tried about five times.

Are you trying to use MSPaint when editing the BMPs? Because that won't work in this situation.
None.
ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO
Where exactly did you just "paste" the bmp onto?
I remember that it did used to work for me to just paste them on paint at some point but then when I started creating entirely new graphics and not just lame kitbashes it didn't work. Might wanna try palleting it in PS.
It does sound like nothing but a pallete issue.
fuck you all

Obviously you haven't.
It sounds like you're trying to do this in a program that doesn't actually have palette support. Use GIMP, or Photoshop.
