All right.
So i had WC3 installed on my computer before it broke. I got a new mobo, wiped the other drive, and formatted it, and have the other one slaved. I copied the WC3 directory from the other drive to the newly formatted one, but it refuses to work, says things about a display error or how the disk isnt in the drive when its not only in the drive, but i have daemon tools mounting an image of it as well.
Help?
Relatively ancient and inactive
You sure the disk is clean and the image isn't corrupted?
That's pretty much the only thing that ever stopped me from installing WCIII, so I have no ideas other then that. Is it a new disk?
None.
I got farty to decrypt my keys but now when i click the shortcut and tell it to start it sits there with the little launching warcraft 3 box and doesnt do anything.
It is likely that it's a problem caused by missing registry files that you wern't able to copy over.
Reinstall WC3.
None.
If you have your key(s), you can download WC3 from the Blizzard Store with a Blizzard Account, if needed. You just need to register for an account and then verify your e-mail address. After verifying, you can enter your CD key(s) and download the games. As with StarCraft, WC3 no longer needs the CD on the newest version.

I know, but you don't transfer registry files from the C:\Program Files\ directories, which is what the topic starter did.

WC3 should work fine without any registry settings (except for updating the game). I've done it many times. To make it so you can install the patches, open regedit and make the registry keys leading up to and including HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III
(the ones you will need to make are just those last two parts, Blizzard Entertainment and Warcraft III)
In that registry key, make a new string value called InstallPath and put your full Warcraft III path in it. For example, if you have Warcraft III in the default location, InstallPath should be C:\Program Files\Warcraft III
If you don't already have the latest version, you should be able to download the latest patch from the web site and install it after having done this. The latest version is currently 1.21b.
