Approaching the podium within the town hall, where almost everyone had gathered for heated discussion, Apos tapped the microphone before revealing his identity in an impassioned speech. Fear racked the hearts of the accused and the guilty - would the mayor string them up on his first day of office? His edict echoed throughout the hall:

"Cast your votes, my friends. There are villains and murderers among us. We must get this town back on track."

lil-inferno stood up immediately and reaffirmed his accusation, voting for the unassuming FarTY1billion. Offended by such a heated display, Corbo cast his vote for the accuser, only to be voted against by jjf28. Additional votes stacked against FaRTy - Ashamed and even NudeRaider sided with lil-inferno, apparently swayed by his and the mayor's call to action. In a last-ditch effort to defend himself against such sudden accusations, FaRTy1billion cast his vote for lil-inferno, but it was not to be.

After reading the crowd and considering the stakes, Apos followed in the footsteps of his constituents, casting his vote for FaRTy1billion and sealing the man's fate. The noose was prepared, and the rope forced around FaRTy's neck. The mayor offered the accused time for last words, but they responded with a panicked and vitriolic incantation in a foreign tongue, drawing gasps from the crowd before the lever was pulled, and the witch was hung.

FaRTy1billion has been lynched! His role was Witch.

The body of the witch had been burned, and the townspeople returned to their homes feeling a little safer. Their mayor had revealed himself, and the witch had been dealt with - but the presence of the murderer was still felt, and the threat of death filled the mayor's heart with dread. Who would be next?

A quiet night crept on till the crack of dawn. An unnerving scream echoed through the streets, but was soon silenced. When the time came for a head count, however, everyone remained alive.

A news bulletin had been posted from the desk of Mayor Apos, filled with legalese that no one quite understood the first time through. With some explanation from the mayor himself, however, all became clear.

No one was killed this day. Mayor Apos has passed legislation to allow the detective to conduct home invasions, discovering the identity and role of whoever they target.
