Even Falkoner, and NudeRaider don't get Elite? .. Who's actually an Elite?
Guys like Falkoner & Nuderaider actually deserves to be an
elite.
Why?
-> Falkoner is the most active of us (got the most post)
-> Nuderaider one of the best (or he IS the best) helper in mapmaking.

There are quite a few who would deserve it judging by who has how many posts and activity points right now. Its currently in progress though, so there's no point in complaining.
I actually have to agree, the statuses have grown on me as well. A toggle feature for their appearence would be nice to have for asthetic reasons of course, but I do like to be able to see what I'm going up against in a reply.
Lingie#3148 on Discord. Lingie, the Fox-Tailed on Steam.
Holy balls, the icons are being used. Doesn't look too good on Carbonite, gotta make moar.
Everything kinda looks a bit cluttered with all of these icons, as an afterthought.

make it the size as one of the circles in the veterans icon.
None.
That would just make the icons annoying, kinda like a black speck that's stuck on your screen, and you have to scratch it off.
Another thought:
If more minor visual updates to SEN are going to be made, then could the new, border-less user status icons be used? The borders are unnecessary and are a serious eyesore.

Wow.. I thought I was the only one who uses Carbonite ^.^ ...
I wish there's a white background skin :\..
Btw.. Really.. who has elite? ><"..
I disagree with raising the standards for being a Regular... This'd keep new people (If there are any) occupied and continue posting because becoming a regular would actually be possible...
However, I don't mind if you raise the standards for being a Veteran or Elite .. s'just that.. there's no one that's an elite... Lols...
Btw.. I vote to change the icon to maybe something starcraft related?
?? www.starcraft2forum.org does it pretty nicely... people can gain minerals to buy lil SC unit icons for their names...
Maybe a regular = Marine ... Veteran = Firebat or Reaper or something ... and Elite = Ghost... (preferably sarah kerrigan.. because admit it.. who wouldn't want to be an elite chick
)
None.
I'm not sure how the icons work at teamliquid.net, but they look good. They're all SC units and stuff.
None.

Get rid of the borders, its smoother
No, I don't want to. I think they look better with the borders.
Need I say moar?
I will: I like the idea of little icons to denote how skilled a certain person is...but one whom is skilled in mapmaking may not be in modding [as I am].
With that said, maybe a different icon for each major section of SEN?
Or just do something important
None.

Yeah, I like this idea a lot. I can't stress this enough: the icons need to represent some sort of hierarchy. Right now the only way I can really tell them apart is based on the assumption that the icon with 4 circles is higher than the icon with 1 circle. When "elite" comes into play, it doesn't follow that same logic.
Currently Working On: My Overwatch addiction.
And fix the Mug of Moose Appreciation trophy, I want it
Yeah, I wasted my minerals on that too. It would be nice to see it as a little trophy on my user page.

Went to teamliquid and didn't find any icons at all.
Those are sc icons just resized. 11px is nowhere near "comfortable" enough to get something that'd be understandable... Unless we do spells which, since they're just shapes, hopefully we can understand them better.
EDIT: Ew, excuse that I just resized them. Doing so made it so they had this weird outline.
EDIT2: Having a second look at them while being on sen, they don't look half bad and pretty understandable of what they are for anyone that has actually played sc (Which I assume anyone here).
If IP likes, and everyone likes, what units shall we use?

fuck you all
scv = new member
civilian = regular
marine = veteran
ghost = elite
tank = gmod, staff, or w/e
battlecruiser = admin
So basically everyone would have some kind of icon.

To be honest, I would really like to see less icons.. they were okay on admins, and maybe some for each type of staff so you can determine who the staff are, but every members with one seems a bit overkill to me.
To be honest too, it was fine on admin only but IP isn't going to change his mind. It'd definitely look better if ALL the members had an icon instead of some members randomly not having an icon and some having them and so on.
And I'd be happy if they were only seen next to the username shown
in topics, it'd give us at least the chance of having 20px icons thus, better quality icons.
They can also come in
Purpleish blue for carbonite and
greenish for the other skins >>
Also, yes, devi, you can also have 20px on online now list and on quoting too.

Agreed. Post only icons for the win.

Here are my current views on the ranking system:
Each post a member makes adds certain points to his 'rank'. Posts in mapping-related forums and SD give more points than in other forums. Posts in Null may not give any points at all. If a post gets moderated or deleted, points are subtracted based on what forum this post was in and the severity points given. Say if a member got 1 severity point for a post, half of the rank points that post gave him are subtracted. If he got two severity points, all the rank points gained from that post are taken away. If he was given 3 or more severity, even more rank points are subtracted. You can also incorporate the severity points a member has; for example someone with 0-3 severity gets half of the post's rank points subtracted for a 1-severity point offence, while anyone who has 4 or more severity points gets more rank points subtracted for a 1-severity point offence.
This way, we don't just base your ranks on posts, but also allow the quality of those posts to influence the rank of a member. Since moderation is becoming more effective than it was, say, 3 years ago, we can be more confident that even slightly spammy posts get a refreshing glass of justice served and even the most careful 'rank spammers' get punished.
I like the idea of ranks being unit icons going from an SCV or Civilian to a BC or Carrier. I also think they should be displayed under the avatar; perhaps next to the online status and contact buttons.
