Night has fallen on Jafferville, the first of many sleepless nights to come. As soon as the sun hides behind the horizon, figures are set in motion that cannot be undone.
Vrael is preparing for yet another attack on the town without realizing that he himself shall soon become the victim. With his handgun loaded, resting in his holster and his mind ready to kill again, Vrael is having a cup of coffee before what he expects to be a long night of hard work. He finishes up the coffee and as he is about to put the cup in the sink, a stone flies into the window, breaking it and frightening Vrael. He quickly pulls out his gun and points it at the window. Strange noise can be heard, but the mafia is unsure what it is. A few seconds later, a package containing a pound of plastic explosive and a detonator, wrapped with several layers of nails is thrown into the kitchen. In total panic,
Vrael tries to escape but it is too late – the bomb goes off, killing him instantly.
Everyone in the town heard such a powerful explosion, everyone but DT_Battlekruser, as he was playing computer games and listening to loud music in his headphones. While he was playing, an unknown man was breaking into his house. As soon as the door opens, the man comes in and quickly examines the house. Nobody can be seen, but he can hear mouse clicks and keyboard strokes. He quickly realizes what his victim is doing, takes out his gun and approaches the room the sounds are coming from. The mafia slowly pushes the slightly open door not to give his presence away, entering the room where DT_Battlekruser will meet his death. The man approaches his victim from behind and shoots
DT_Battlekruser in the back. Shocked and wounded, he falls of the floor, shaking uncontrollably and coughing up blood. He wants to say something, but is not granted such an opportunity; he is shot in the head before he manages to formulate his last words.
Meanwhile, Shocko is sitting in his room in a winter jacket. He does not want company, but he is well prepared for it. After over an hour of nervous anticipation, he hears a gunshot followed by the squeak of his door opening. He takes out his mobile phone and calls his mother, who is on the other side of the world.
Shocko: Hello, mother.
Shocko’s mother: Sh… Shocko?! Is that you, my son?! Oh, I am so glad to hear your vo-
Shocko: I have no time for this, mother. I’m calling to say thank you to you and my father. Thank you for the wonderful upbringing you’ve given me. Thank you…
Shocko’s mother: Shocko, is everything all right?...
Shocko: …for all the love you’ve given me. I am emotional, but I am strong. I’ll gladly sacrifice myself for the community I live in.
Shocko’s mother *through tears*: Sho… You’re not serious, are you?
Shocko: It is time. Goodbye mother.
Shocko hangs up the phone and puts it away. A few seconds after, a mafia enters the room with a shotgun. Although a bit surprised to see his victim in a winter jacket, he shoots Shocko in the chest without hesitation. Shocko falls down with a short and loud scream. The mafia approaches him to see his last breath, but notices that something is not right: there is no blood. He opens up Shocko’s jacket and finds that there is a bulletproof vest hidden under it, as well as a pack of old grenades. Shocko then grabs the mafia by the shirt with one hand and takes out the safety pin from one of the grenades with the other. There is no time to reload the double-barrel shotgun, so the mafia punches
Shocko in the face with the stock several times, which is enough to make Shocko release him. He then jumps behind the couch just in time to save himself from the explosion. Though unable to hear anything but the bells’ ringing, he leaves the house otherwise unharmed.
Ultimo is sitting at his computer, chatting with some man who calls himself “1-to-1”. This mysterious man claims that he knows the identities of several mafia. He then sends Ultimo a very large file and claims that it contains irrefutable clues against the mafia. Ultimo is skeptical at first, but naïve hope slowly takes him and focuses all of his attention on the file sending process. He fails to notice how a man gets into his house through the window he left open; all he can think of now is the file transfer bar. By the time the file is sent, the intruder is already in one room with Ultimo, waiting for a suitable moment to strike. His victim opens the file with childish enthusiasm only to find that it is empty. The mafia then says “Gotcha!” out loud.
Ultimo is so shocked that he even falls off his chair. The man swiftly approaches him and beats him to death with a baseball bat.
Not all townspeople are sitting at home. TassadarZeratul, a former detective with the police, is at JaFF’s house. He may have lost physical shape and gained weight after leaving the police, but his intellect and experience are still with him. He is carefully examining everything down to the smallest detail and making notes of all his findings. His progress is slow, but he does not give up – he knows that patience is the key. His thoughts are focused on one man – he wants to find out whether this man is mafia or not. Before he can go any further with his investigation, he is interrupted by distant footsteps and a voice that says “I know you’re here”. TassadarZeratul now regrets that he took his small backup revolver instead of his Glock pistol. He takes out his handgun and enters the deadly game of cat and mouse with his enemy. As he moves through the house, he hears the mafia speak again: “Look at you! You’re so fat! You’re face is all read and you’re breathing heavily just because of a little stress. Uhhhh… you’re disgustingly fat” Through his heavy breathing, TassadarZeratul replies: “It’ll take more than that to scare me. Show yourself! Show yourself!!!” After several minutes of searching, TassadarZeratul is suddenly stabbed in the back with a knife. He falls on one knee, turns around, but there is no one there. While he is looking in that direction, he is stabbed in the shoulder from another. In panic, he shoots in that direction, but does not hit his enemy. He begins franticly looking around, trying to understand where the mafia is. Several seconds later, his enemy quietly approaches him from the right and chops off both his hands with one strike. Shocked and screaming in pain, TassadarZeratul still cannot see his attacker. He is left to bleed for a minute or two, then the man finishes him off with several swift attacks, each coming from a new direction. TassadarZeratul even then could not see his killer – he was too fast and too quiet. The dying detective falls on the floor and looks up. He can see the knife used to kill him, but not the killer. His soul leaves his body and
TassadarZeratul is no more.
It is early morning, the sun has not yet risen. DeVouReR can’t sleep. Not only is he nervous, he is also hungry. He reaches for the plate with sweets and eats some. He suddenly falls asleep, only to wake up tied to a chair in his living room. A man with oddly dyed hair stands in front of him, monumental and cold as death itself. He then calmly proclaims: “The undeserving to live must die.” DeVouReR struggles to get out as hard as he can, but it is no use. The man takes out a hammer and beats
DeVouReR to death.
As DeVouReR is making his last sigh, the first drops of rain begin to fall.
ToA is preparing to leave the town this morning; he packed all his things and worked out a route through the hills to the nearest town. Despite the stormy weather, he leaves his house and begins his journey to a new life in a new community – a community without violence and death. As he is walking on a hill, he is struck death by lightning.
The townspeople leave their houses, happy that they survived the night, and begin investigating the deaths. The most interesting find was made in Vrael’s house: in his secret stash, among many weapons, a first aid kit and a diploma in medicine were found. It became clear that he was a mafia doctor. This is good news for the town, but they are still far from victory. After the bodies (or what’s left of them, in some cases) are buried, everyone assembles at the mayor’s house to decide who to lynch.
* Day 2 Start *Town, do your thing.
Notes about clues:
1. Every man that achieves a kill has clues against him. In the first post, clues were included against all mafia members.
2. Try to pay more attention to general things. Sometimes, a whole paragraph is one clue/reference, but not the specific words/phrases in it.
3. Use your imagination and your knowledge to find connections. Google, Wikipedia and the search function @ SEN are your friends.
