My brother was interested in making some menu/console stuff, but neither of us can find them, and he's basically making me make this topic. Can someone please tell me how to find them for him so that he'll stop bugging the hell out of me?

None.

Consoles are a single pcx file. I believe they also have a bin file for the layout.

Menus like the main menu are a combination of pcx, bin, and smk files. They're organized by directory under glue\ iirc. The main menu is palmm. Do a *palmm* search in winmpq and it should list it.

Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

Consoles are in:
game\tconsole (or pconsole, or zconsole)

For the rest of the menu stuff, Mesk sums it up.

If anything cool is ever going on Skype me up under the name "blarghle"

👻 👾 👽 💪

Consoles are made of a ton of *.bins. I don't know if there is anyone who knows specifically how the regions of the console .pcx that are drawn are determined.

Menus are fun! :) Most of the bin files are under the rez directory, but not all. Just make sure you use the correct version .bin file for your particular mod by checking patch_rt.mpq for that version first. There isn't a whole lot of info on menu editing, but with anything once you screw around with it for awhile, the layers and how everything works together become easier. BinEdit2's preview feature will make it easy for you to quickly open different .bin files and see where they fit in.

Gluck and look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
