I still don't think Elementa is the best map. I mean visually its probably the best, but in terms of gameplay and other things I find it not as entertaining as other maps. The 2 player hurts it and really it's just defilers and starports with amazingly flashy spells. Once you get past the look of the spells the map is just okay. The spells are great, but I don't think its enough to carry the map. Overall, in relation to the other great maps I'd rank it below RUSH and I think TS is more deserving of best map.

Don't get me wrong, it executes its concept almost perfectly, and its a great work of triggering but I think the best map is more than that.

It's like the Crescent Dyne of triggering.

Devil, im just curious, what is your reasoning behind TS being the best map?

Its gameplay, entertainment, and competitive value.

Someone still has to play a map before they vote for it.

And I don't understand why devilesk is still supporting TS, seeing as how he dislikes the map.

Like how? I could vote a random map because of its gameplay, entertainment value, and its competitive themes. Specifics if you can please.

I'm changing my vote to Elementa, as best map, now that it's not under wraps anymore. Beta or not, It has beautiful execution, and I find it a ton of fun.

Sure you can vote a random map and cite those thinsg because of it, but I'm saying that TS excels in all of those things above all other maps. If you think a random map does so then so bet it, that's your idea of the best map.

It looks like a We Are Friend with defilers and only 2 players. Honestly, it just looks like a bunch of flashy spells, no epic RPG, nada

My issue with Temple Siege, is that it's not very well balanced, and the game play is way slow, the map is too large, and there aren't enough units running around it, I personally prefer Storm the Fort when I'm in the mood for that kind of map, and if I feel like having awesome triggering, I'd play Astrogears.

I just think Elementa is an example of the best effects you can achieve in Starcraft if you dedicate all of a maps resources to it, such as using all of your locations and players to achieve the effect. However, in terms of the best map I think it sacrifices too much to achieve the effects in the map which takes away from things like playing area and amount of players. It's not like he created the spells' effects without any consequences, there are always tradeoffs that have to be made. For example, in a pixel grid system you must sacrifice virtually all of your locations, but in the end you get a system that's very flexible and allows you to do many things which is probably worth the amount of locations it uses.
