The pylon aura is not symetrical. The graphic is, but not the power radius.
We came across the odd shape of the pylon aura while writing isPowered() for BWAPI.
See this:
The blue is where buildings can be placed around the pylon.
As you can see and probably experiment with, buildings can be placed further from the pylon on the upper left.
This is also an error in SCMDraft.
This can be used as an advantage in some situations, including the UMS game "Pylon Defense".
I noticed this but never went out of my way to find out/diagram the specifics. Interesting and I wonder if Blizz will fix or ignore it like they probably have been doing for years.
I knew it wasn't symmetrical... ;o I never thought about it other than how to evenly space pylons.
The pylon is not centered. :X
